Exercise
- Explanation of total fastbreak (including trailers)
- 5 men around bucket
- Take free throw --> call who has to score (by number)
- Other side fastbreak
1 player under the basket
3 or 4 players with ball outside the bucket, distributed or the field
- Give numbers to the players
- Calling out numbers, defender must quickly step out and take up position
2 baskets, spread out:
- left-hand lay-up
- Shooting from 5 positions (1x1, loser press-ups).
- Free running (head of the bucket ball, 2x2 free running to score, emphasis on defense)
- Reaction game (1 defender in the middle, 3 players with ball around the bucket, call out number)
5 lines on the back line, trainer has the ball.
- 2 rows are defenders, rest is attack
- Everyone has to touch the middle line and then attack or defend
- Trainer throws ball in the field or in the circle
- Player stands on the wing position with a ball, in front of her there is a defender.
- An attacker and a defender are at the guard position.
- The attacker cuts in to the 6-spot and back up, the defender defends along with her.
- Once back up, the defender stands and the attacker cuts inside again and gets the ball with a good pass from the winger.
- He then finishes 1 to 0.
- Make it more difficult or easier by adjusting defenses or using more players.
- Everyone takes a position on the field!
- You are going to focus on:
- Defending between the man and the basket.
- Free running. ( in-out)
- Always pass.
- Parties with different assignments/restrictions.
- Please note:
- Walk freely.
- Do not dribble blindly.
- Pass well.
- Pivot.
- Talking.
- 3x3 without dribbling. (1 basket)
- First 10 passes.
- Both teams on the back line. (on stomach)
- Trainer puts ball in play via shot or bounce. (Quick positioning, who will attack?).
- Just play to the 10 (end game).
Exercise
- 3 men at the bucket, coach at the free throw line.
- Take free throw.
- Outlet to the side, other two rebounding or taking it.
- Pass to outlet. (Never in the middle!)
- Outlet dribbles to centre, other two split left-right.
- To basket across.
- Cutting from free throw line.
- Outlet good jump stop and tight pass.
With 3 men on the back line and the middle having the ball
- The middle passes to a man
- Runs after the ball.
- Who passes to the man on the other side
- Also runs after the ball.
- They do this while running to the basket on the other side.
- When someone is close enough to the basket, the man runs a lay-up.
NOTE: no ball on the ground, so the other must rebound (even when scoring)!
Everyone in the trio must have scored once.
If that takes more than 6 attempts, then they all have to do 10 pushups
2 x 3 set-up
- 2 pairs (defender/attacker).
- 1 player at head of bucket with ball.
- Pass and set up screen on player without ball.
- Player cuts above.
- Player also rolls off.
