Handball drills for technique attack / offense

  • 2 goalkeepers
  • 2 players on the circle, throw the ball to the trainer.
  • Players run, get ball from trainer and while overplaying go across to finish. Possibly with movement inside.
  • In 2 groups.
Make pairs with a ball.
  • The one without the ball stands diagonally behind the one with the ball.
  • The player with the ball tips the ball to the 9-meter line as quickly as possible. The player without the ball tries to tap the ball away.
    Without making physical contact.
  • Line up full team on one side, team without goalie on other side.
  • Players will defend offensively and continue to watch for players behind.
  • Interception is a point and goal is a point.
  • Everyone makes two teams and is divided over the left and right corner.
  • The right corner plays the goalkeeper, the goalkeeper plays the left corner at the half way line.
  • The right corner has run on in the meantime, receives the ball and finishes.

  • Right corner player runs towards the outside defender on the other side and puts a back barrage.
  • Left build-up with ball threatens on the 2nd defender.
  • Makes a threat and jumps to the middle and plays to the blocking player or shoots at goal himself
  • Optionally, the ball can also be played into the circle if the middle defender gets out/closes up.

  • Ball goes from the left tackle to the middle tackle.
  • The middle build-up breaks away and throws the ball to the incoming corner.
  • The corner starts to receive the ball and puts pressure on the defender. (threatening the goal)
  • The build-up puts pressure on the middle and rounds off. (jump shot)

  • 3 defenders, 3 attackers, 1 circle player.
  • So you are playing 3 against 4.
  • The attackers threaten to go towards goal and go for each other.
  • They try to score with a jump shot or to play the circle runner.
  • The circle runner tries to set a barrage and the attackers play around at a high pace.
  • Defenders get out and keep an eye on the circle runner.
Explain in advance that what a barrage means and in what ways you can barrage.

  • 2 players facing each other, with tennis ball.
  • Hold upper arm and overplay ball with forearm/wrist.
  • Pass over with hip throw.
  • Trainer stands center front at 7 meters.
  • Player throws on ball from 11/ 12 meters, runs up, catches ball and shoots under arms trainer, with side shot.
  • Note low body position.
Practice passing moves in small 2-meter space.

1. Right - right wide - left)
2. Left, left wide - right - left - with overhaul.
3. 3 pass with extended forward throwing arm.
4. Turn -right turn to pass left - left turn to pass right.

  • 3 defenders with vests - 4 attackers.
  • 4 markers on the ground - see drawing - approximate position attackers.
  • The attackers try, through good interplay with the corner players, to get the ball on the ground in the 6 meters. Not throwing but laying down - 1 point.
  • The defenders try to touch an attacker who has the ball - 1 point.
  • Above all play each other freely, no passing moves and the like.
