Korfball drills for technique shoot / score / shot

Two pairs stand near a basket (one archer and one server per pair), both have a ball and must score on the same post. At the start of the game, they may start shooting. When one of the shooters scores, all shooters and suppliers must change their position. Play a competition to see which pair scores 10 goals first.

Shooting game where there is 1 declarer and 4 shooters who stand 5 to 6 meters from the basket.

Nr. 1 takes a shot, if he hits the ball then number 2 must hit the ball, if he misses he must give his place to the declarer. If he misses, he/she has to give up his/her place to the declarer. If he/she hits the ball, he/she can stay on the spot and number 3 has to hit the ball until one misses and he/she has to swap places with the declarer under the basket.

1 declarer and 1 attacker

The attacker draws away from under the basket diagonally and gets the ball passed to him by the attacker, the attacker hits the ball. The attacker runs to the basket again, touches the post and pulls away diagonally to the other side of the post and shoots again.

Do this for 1 minute and count the goals, the declarer catches the ball each time and passes it to the forehead of the attacker.

Legs about 20 cm apart and diagonally across.

Face towards the basket

Arms slightly bent.

• Good foot forward so you can make the best push-off (one child can push off better with his/her left leg and the other with his/her right leg).

Hands close to the ball, with thumbs towards the basket (you put the ball on your hands).

Weight on your back leg.

Shift your weight (i.e. your body) to your front leg and then push off in the direction of the basket.

Jump up towards the basket at an angle, lifting your knee well upwards so that the ball comes close to the basket (following your knee).

Let go of the ball at the highest point and point to it.

Legs side by side, slightly spread, about 1 foot between both feet (so the archer stands firm and balanced).

Fingers spread, thumbs and index finger in a triangle.

Ball in front of your face, looking just over the ball.

Shoulders straight to the basket.

Feet straight to the basket.

Body straight to the basket.

Elbows outwards, approx. 15 cm from the body.

Knees and then jump straight up (the power of the shot comes from the legs).

Extend your arms in the direction of the basket.

Shoot the ball in an arc towards the basket.

Point the ball in the direction of the basket.

 • Come back to the same place with both legs as you kick off.

Keep watching and pointing the ball until it hits the basket (to improve your next shot).

When throwing with the left, put the right leg in front (when throwing with the right, put the left leg in front).

Hold the ball on your hand behind your head with spread fingers.

Other arm forward

Left or right foot max. 30 cm to the front

Look at the direction you want to throw the ball.

Body rests on right leg, shifting weight to left.

Turn your body.

Throw the ball in a straight line past your head.

Pointing in the direction of throw.

You determine the speed and curve from the wrist.

Your body should end up in a straight line with your team-mate (shoulders straight, feet and navel in the direction of your team-mate).

Catch with 1 hand

Thumb and fingers spread, make sure hand is relaxed.

Receiving the ball, passing the body.

Turn your body (to get the speed out of the ball).

Bend your knees slightly (to reduce speed and maintain control of the ball).

Catch with 2 hands

Thumb and index finger in triangular shape (to prevent overshoot).

Feet crossed at an angle with a space of about 30 cm (shoulder width or just outside).

Receive the ball with arms almost stretched out.

Squeeze the ball lightly on reception.

Bring the ball up to chest height with your arms bent (to get the speed out of the ball).

Stand in pairs facing each other, about 5 metres apart

Stand on your left leg and throw the ball with your left hand to the left of your team-mate. Both throw and catch with one hand. Do this 15 times with the left hand and then 15 times with the right hand. After this, switch to standing on the right leg and repeat the exercise.

2 pawns with 3 meters in between.

Player 1 starts at 1 of the hats. Player 2 starts 3 meter from the cones, in the middle.

Player 1 goes at speed from hat 1 to hat 2.

Player 2 passes the ball to player 1 when he is almost at hat 2. Player 1 catches the ball with one hand, transfers it to his other hand and passes the ball back to player 2.

Player 1 goes back to hat 1, player 2 passes the ball back to the outside hand and player 1 passes back again.

Repeat for 1 minute and change players roles.

2 pawns with 3 meters in between.

Player 1 starts at 1 of the hats. Player 2 starts 3 meter from the cones, in the middle.

Player 2 passes the ball to player 1 when he is almost at hat 2. Player 1 catches the ball with one hand and passes it back to player 2.

Player 1 goes back to hat 1, player 2 passes the ball back to the outside hand and player 1 passes back again.

Player 1 stands 3-4 m from player 2.

Player 1 throws with his right hand to the right hand of player 2.Â

Player 2 does the same (right to right).

After 10 times it went well now with left to left.
