Volleyball drills for technique general

Party, the team that has to play next Saturday plays against the rest.

6 players stand in competition position in the field, other players stand with the trainer on the other side.

It will be a game, the intention is that the 'small' team gets 3 points. So the ball must have fallen 3 times on the ground on the other side. The 6 who are on the other side play the ball easily back to the other side.

In 2 groups opposite each other:

  • Hold up 3 balls and only 1 ball at a time in your hand.
  • Hold up 4 balls and you are only allowed to hold up 1 ball at a time.
  • In total 3 balls, where 1 ball is thrown in between and both have 1 ‘own’ ball. Before you catch the thrown ball, you throw your 'own' ball up, catch the thrown ball, throw it back and catch your 'own' ball. And so on.
  • Play 1 ball overhead, 1 ball bounce on the ground.
  • Play 1 ball overhand, 1 ball over ground.
  • Play 1 ball overhand, 1 ball roll with arms stretched over ground.

In 2 groups opposite each other:

  • Hold up 3 balls and only 1 ball at a time in your hand.

  • Play1 ball overhead, 1 ball bounce on the ground.
  • Play 1 ball overhand, 1 ball over ground.
  • Play 1 ball overhand, 1 ball roll with arms stretched over ground.

Formation in system.

especially from a game situation and attention to short balls.

  • 2-2 or 3-3 (possibly on 2 fields)
  • there is a winner's square and an entry square
  • the winner moves to the winner's square
  • losers get out
  • new team enters the entry zone
  • you can only score one point in the winner's zone

Goal of the exercise is :

  • play the ball in the back
  • after servicxe directly to the front

  • 2 teams of 2
  • players may only stand and move in the front part of the field
    • unless you are serving: this is done from the back line.
    • server must walk to the front directly after service
  • the backfield does count, but you are not allowed to come as a player
  • so when the ball is played into the backfield, it counts as a point
    • in front of course also just
  • (maybe the field should not be cut in half, but the line should be moved backwards...)

  • Play 1 ball overhand, 1 ball roll with arms stretched over ground.
  • Make groups of 6-8 players
  • Put the players on one side of the net. This is the free side.
  • On the other side of the net, designate a box. Maybe whole field. That is the prison
  • 1 or 2 players start in the prison
  • The trainer throws the ball (as a set up)
  • Players on the right side of the net play this ball in prison and on the ground
    • So they have to play smart and look good!

  • If this succeeds:
    • player does not have to go to the prison and can stay on the free side
  • If this fails :
    • player must go to the prison

  • A player who is in prison can get out of it by:
    1. easy variant: catch the ball.
      • free player has to go IN the prison, catcher can go OUT
    2. Difficult variation: pass the ball and another player Or the player himself from prison to catch the ball
      • free player must go IN and the catcher can go OUT ofthe prison

This exercise trains playing high

  • put the nets up high
  • see if the group has to be split up in small and big groups.
  • pass the ball in pairs over a high net.
  • the ball must be played well up
