3-1 play with deep running players: various variations

Version 1
  • The players start passing around in a 4-0 situation. One of the players makes a running action towards the rebound, creating a 3-1 situation.
  • The three outside players move towards each other with continuous ball movements.
  • The player who ran towards the rebound steps out to the middle player and receives the ball. This can be any player.
  • The player who stepped out passes the ball back to the middle player.
  • The other two players make a deep running line and one of them receives the ball and shoots.
  • The player who stepped out turns back and takes the rebound position.
Version 2
  • Steps 1 to 6 remain the same.
  • The middle player cuts around the feeder at the back and comes into the feeding position at the front of the post.
  • The player who received the ball passes to the feeder.
  • The feeder passes to the player next to them and takes a shot.
Version 3
  • Identical to version 1.
  • The player who threw the cross ball moves sideways to come next to the player who received the ball.
  • This player receives the ball and the two players at the front make running actions inside for the running-in shot.
