  • Objective

    • The objective is to warm up the setters and practice set-ups to different positions.

    Step 1: Warm-up (5 minutes)

    • Place a basket at position 4 on both sides of the net.
    • Play at a high tempo to warm up the setters.
    • Rotate after a few balls so that all setters get a turn.

Step 2: Attack at Position 4 (5 minutes)

    • Replace the basket at position 4 with attackers.
    • Have the attackers hit straight.
    • Add a block if necessary, depending on the flow and the number of players.

Step 3: Move Attack to Position 3 (5 minutes)

    • Move the attack from position 4 to position 3 (middle).
    • Have the attackers hit straight or to the left.
    • Add a block if necessary, depending on the flow and the number of players.
    drawing Set-up to position 4 or 3
  • Formation
    • One side of the court with a full team formation. On the opposite side: 1 setter, 2 attackers with a ball, and 2 servers.
    Execution
    • The ball is served from the baseline by the servers. The team in formation defends the service and executes a good pass. Once a successful attack is made by the team, the extra attackers set up an attack. This is followed by a rally defence by the team.
    Rotation
    • After 5 successful series, the players rotate two positions. The servers become attackers. The attackers take their place in the team formation. Two players from the team formation go to serve.

  • Exercise 1: Cooperation with Ball and Hoop
    • A sits on a chair, B has a ball and bounces it while walking forward. A catches the ball and throws it up for B. B plays the ball overhead backwards. Meanwhile, A stands up, walks backwards, and picks up a hoop. A places the hoop down so that the ball bounces into it. B expands the exercise by passing the ball while standing in the hoop. A returns the ball (overhead or underhand) and B catches the ball while sitting on the chair. A performs an attack by playing the ball back to B, who is sitting on the chair.
Exercise 2: Cones and Ball Cart
    • Place a ball cart in the middle of the court. Each player has a cone and stands at the net. Each time a cone lands in the cart, the player moves to the next sideline. Once all sidelines are completed, the last stop is as far back as possible behind the end line, from the wall.
    Exercise 3: Sit-ups and Blocking
    • A has a ball and a cone, B stands at the net, C has a cart. While A starts, C does 5 sit-ups and B performs a block. A bounces the ball to B and also throws the cone to B. B catches the cone and plays the ball overhead to A, who has meanwhile walked to the net. A plays the ball over to the cart and C moves the cart to make this possible. The players rotate each time.
Exercise 4: Ball and Stick Rotation
    • A and B have a ball and a stick. Throw the ball high and rotate the stick under the ball each time. Try to let the ball pass under the stick as much as possible.
    Exercise 5: Core Stability
    • Each player has 2 tennis balls and 2 cones where the balls can rest. In a prone position, players exchange the balls 8 times in 30 seconds.
Exercise 6: Reaction and Hip Rotation
    • Work in pairs with two tennis balls. Stand together in a shuffle step and alternately perform a hip rotation. Player A holds the tennis balls in their hands, player B places their hands on top of A's. A drops the balls and B tries to catch them.

  • Objective

    • To improve the build-up and ball transfer within a team.

    Execution

    • Team Blue begins by building an attack on the A-side of the court.
    • When Team Blue plays the ball over the net, each player runs under the net to the B-side.
    • On the B-side, Team Blue builds up an attack again.
    • Meanwhile, Team Red prepares on the A-side to repeat the same process.
    • Start with the teams playing together, then they can play against each other for a competitive element.

  • Formation
    • Trainer on one side with two blockers in front in zone 2-3 or 3-4.
    • On the opposite side: Libero in reception, setter around 2/3, and two attackers (e.g., outside hitter + middle blocker, or outside hitter + opposite hitter).
    Progression
    • The trainer throws an unpredictable ball to the libero.
    • There are four targets:
    • Green: Set up to position 4 for a line attack.
    • Blue: Set up to position 4 for a tip over the block.
    • Red: Set up to the middle for a tip over the block.
    • Yellow: Set up to the corner (inside) or middle for a deep hit to position 5.
drawing Libero trigger: three-option attack against live blocking
  • Objective

    • Improve service reception and concentration.

    Execution

    • There are three receivers and one collector on the court.
    • The remaining players serve the ball.
    • Each server must concentrate and avoid serving to the same receiver twice in a row.
    • The collector must gather 10 balls.
    • When the collector has gathered 10 balls, the roles switch, and they become the new receivers.
    drawing Service reception training
  • Execution
    • Players begin at the marker and everything is played underhand.
    • Optional: Start with a short ball if there are enough players. Otherwise, start at the marker and move backwards.
    • Move backwards for a deep ball.
    • Sprint forward for a short ball.
    • Move sideways for a short ball.
    • Move backwards again for a deep ball.
    Points of Attention
    • Ensure the ball is thrown as soon as the previous ball is played.
    • The ball should be thrown in a way that is achievable but challenging.

  • Organisation
    • Form trios. The first trio lies on their stomachs behind the 7-metre line. The trainer stands with a ball cart on the other side of the net.
    Execution
    • The trainer claps on the ball and immediately plays it over the net. Players must quickly get up and return the ball over the net in a maximum of three contacts. The trainer can determine the level of difficulty.
    drawing Quick reaction trio drill
  • Execution
    • Position the players in a circle with 5 to 6 players on each side of the court.
    • Players pass the ball around.
    • If the ball does not reach correctly, it is caught and replayed.
    Exercises
    • 1a) Overhead passing with an intermediate touch.
    • 1b) Overhead passing without an intermediate touch.
    • 2a) Underhand catching and overhead passing.
    • 2b) Underhand passing.
    • 3) Introduce a second ball into play. The ball must be passed directly, both overhead and underhand.
    drawing Warm-up in a circle
  • Organisation
    • Deliver a pass from position 5 after a throw-in from the trainer.
    Execution
    • Pass from position 5 to a mat placed on a korfball basket, located at position 2/3.
    • Pass variation from the backcourt to a second mat.
    • Pass from the backcourt towards the setter, who plays the ball backwards towards basket 3.
    • Repeat the previous step, but now a player stands at the position of the basket and plays the ball towards the backcourt after the set-up from the setter. The player may follow the ball if necessary.
    • The ball can then be played with a smash.
    • Two players serve the ball.
    • Two players serve, the ball is passed as before, followed by a rally ball and the completion of the rally.
