Soccer drills

  • Goalkeeper in goal. All balls in starting zone.

  • One player has free starting ball which is compulsorily played into Phase 1.
  • After ball lands in Phase 1, starting player joins in box. This becomes 4v4.

  • In the intermediate line is one player that the defending team is not allowed to enter. That is used to move the game from Phase 1 to Phase 2.
  • The player in the intermediate line then joins in Phase 2 for a 3v3.

  • If the defensive side takes the ball away then they set up the counter to the small goal.
  • This remains 3v3 and 4v4, the boxes being the boundaries.
Does attacking take over the ball from defending then everyone recovers their position and we start again.

drawing 1 vs. 1 duels
Keeper is in the goal standing just outside the 16. This is to add some surprise. He does know if the ball is coming over the left or right. But either striker can be the one finishing.

  • We start at the number 10 position A.
  • The attack is "dead" there, so we get the ball out and play back to our 6 B.
  • Our 6 now looks for the half player at C or D.
  • If C, takes on with the right and turns open and, possibly through the number 10, looks for the other side.
  • If D, takes on with the left and turns open and searches, possibly via the number 10, the other side.
  • The half player then plays into the box near the strikers waiting at the corners of 5 meter area.
  • One of the players works off and joins A, the other striker remains standing.
Passing is done alphabetically. Positions D and C are double for turnovers.

drawing Ball out and lace change
  • Ball starts in circle.
  • Triangle player makes running action to the circle in the same color.
  • So two consecutive circles are two offers/run actions.
  • Dotted line is running line.
  • Tight line is pass line.
drawing Attack design variation
Ball possession.
A match without goals.

Exercise:
  • Keeping the ball in the team as long as possible
  • Running free and retrieving the ball

  • Adjust the space according to the amount of players.
drawing Ball possession
  • Keeping ball on foot.
  • Player plays in on inside of pawn, accepts with one touch and allows her/him to turn around pawn.
  • Plays across, again inside etc.
  • Last player in the 16 meters takes over and dribbles the ball through the exercise. Be aware of surroundings, hold back/push through.
