Hockey drills for technique attack / offense

  • A starts with the ball a has a hard flats to B.
  • B passes the ball back to C.
  • C then makes a passing move past the pawns.
  • B runs through and plays with C who rebounds.
  • C has got the ball back and passes the ball back to the run through A.
  • After several balls apply the 1touch in the circle.

  • A starts with the ball and passes the ball back to B.
  • A and B start playing a 2 : 2 against the 2 defenders standing there.
  • The 2 defenders who are waiting to see what the attackers are going to do. The first defender who stays on the 23 meter line. The other defender sticks around by the circle.
  • Let the attackers come and play to that.

  • Divide the group into two.
  • Group 1 is going to play party in the box.
  • Group 2 does the drill:
    • A gives a scoop to B.
    • C sees space on the sideline and accelerates that way and gets a hard pass from B.
    • C and D play and 2:1 against the defender.
    • If the defender takes the ball then she scores in the goaltending on the side.
  • Alternate groups.

  • Tips for attackers:
    • Maintain your speed 
    • Have already thought about what you want to do in advance
  • Tips for defenders:
    • Axis must be tight
    • Use the jab to push your opponent to the outside
    • Stand in an active stance.

  • The three attackers are going to try to pass in the box 3 times (if this is too easy make it more).
  • When they have passed each other three times, they can finish on goal.
  • They only have to pass the defender who is standing there. 
  • It then becomes a 3 on 2 with the attacker who was in the box.

  • A starts with the ball and first plays the ball back to B.
  • When B has accepted the ball the 3v3 starts and the defenders may start to pressure.
  • Tips for the attackers:
    • Use the exercise of switching the strikers 
    • Only play the safe ball
    • Remember the 4 squares in the circle
  • Tips for the defenders:
    • Keep your man in the circle
    • Push them to one side 
    • Always put pressure on the ball (i.e. don't let them shoot)

  • A starts with the ball and runs towards the bar

  • Extendable to 2-1.
  • Variant 1 - Pass sideways, vertical run with diagonal pass.
  • Variant 2 - Pass sideways, diagonal run with vertical pass.
  • Variation 3 - Pass sideways, diagonal run with short diagonal pass.
  • Variant 4 - Setup as Variant 3 with a 2-1 in the circle.

  • 4 defenders in the (build up)
  • 2 midfielders
  • 3 strikers
  • 3 defenders (opponents) + goalkeeper in circle
  • Play around from the bowl without pressure (can always be added later)
  • The 2 midfielders offer themselves from the axis to the back where the ball is going. 
  • Not being passed to is going to the line and back to the axis. 
  • Not offering on the long passing line. 
  • Being played is opening up and then playing the hanging striker or the winger. 
  • After playing, continue to pass into the guard position.
  • The 2 WINGER strikers offer themselves on the 23m
  • The HANGING striker offers himself in the attack at the head of the circle. 
  • The WINGER striker on the support side looks for scoring position at the far post.

  • Player RED comes out of the square and offers himself to player BLUE.
  • BLUE passes to RED as he offers himself. 
  • Player WHITE pressures RED so it has to accept closed and plays back to BLUE (guard).
  • Player RED makes an acceleration to the left or right next to the square.
  • Player BLUE passes the ball to player RED looking carefully where RED asks for the ball (forehand or backhand).
  • RED takes the ball open and penetrates the circle to finish on goal.
  • TURN TO THE OTHER SIDE.
  • RED JOINS AT STARTING POINT / BLUE JOINS IN THE SQUARE.
