Korfball drills

  • We use again the four baskets in a row, the pawns are now at 10 metres right in front of the basket, there are four attackers (of which two are trainers) and three pairs (each pair has an attacker and a defender).
  • The attacker will try to score a walkthrough ball on each basket under pressure of the defender, always starting from the pile.
  • Attention: the attacker has to stand still at the pile (wait for a moment), after a walkthrough on one basket it is of course not allowed to walk through to the next basket for the walkthrough.
  • The defender defends the walkthrough ball within arm's length (near the pylon).
  • Which attacker will score 5 balls first?
  • Change function after each round around all the baskets.
  • The attackers run one lap less because they only change after the first player has five balls in his hands (let players who already master the walkthrough run one lap less or do three laps so that at least every pair of players runs two laps).
  • 1 shooter, 1 attacker, both standing under the basket.
  • The shooter draws away from under the basket and makes a shot (short chance).
  • In front of the basket at 8 metres, the shooter makes another shot.
  • After this, the players calmly walk sideways, after which they catch the ball and drop it 'inside' for the walk-through.
  • Who will score 25 points first? (shot from 8 meter counts for two)
  • Four posts in a row.
  • One pylon in front of the basket at 8 metres.
  • The players start walking from the pile, after which they continue to the next basket via the pile in front of the basket.
  • When they arrive at the last pile, the player walks behind the baskets to the first basket.
  • The ladies and gentlemen walk separately and both walk two minutes.
  • Overtaking is only allowed behind the basket!!!!.
  • Do not place the baskets too close to each other.
  • Ladies and gentlemen each at a post, two shooters in front of the basket at 7 metres.
  • One rebounder and one defender under the basket.
  • Two pawns at the side of the basket at 4 metres.
  • The rebounder has to sprint away to touch one of the pawns and run back to the basket to get the rebound.
  • The defender has to follow the rebounder to the pile, also touching the pile and trying to make it easy for the rebounder.
  • The rebounder gets to run away five times? Who catches the most of the five times? The rebounder or the defender?
  • Pairs of players at the basket.
  • Free ball 1 and 2 practice with defenders.
  • Wanna know which ones?
  • Who scores the most from 5 free balls taken? (1 and 2 = 10 free balls taken each)
  • Shooting from a neighborhood ball from 7 yards with two attackers under the basket each with a ball.
  • Which player scores the most in two minutes?
  • Reduce the attack space and divide into four squares.
  • Players split into the four squares
  • They play the ball around and change sides or diagonally
  • They switch sides and diagonally. (attacking)
  • Place one defender in the van and play on the second chance. (action after the shot)
  • Two defenders, no manning under the basket when shot. (running rebound)
  • Putting diagonal passing into play. (defenders attacking from the back).
  • Change boxes during the game.
  • 4/3 same assignments
  • 4/4 set up NO REBOUND. Tackle the backfield (the backfield is the space where no attacking takes place).
  • Take care of the signal.
  • Dare to take the second chance.
  • You can vary with time or ball contacts.

  • Players stand in different groups at the pole and get a shooting assignment.
  • E.g. score 3 times in a row without missing from 5 metres.
  • The player who has done this can come to the middle and say higher or lower with his row of cards.
  • This exercise is repeated until someone has finished his row of cards.
  • In case of a wrong guess, the card is replaced by a spare card.

  • The teacher sets out three areas of approximately equal size with pawns.
  • It is best to use the volleyball lines (see map).
  • There are three sections (see map):
  • Left: barons square (losers square)
  • Centre: princes section (neutral section)
  • Right: king of the court (winner section)
  • All students stand in the middle section.
  • With a signal from the teacher the game starts.
  • All pupils have to try to tap/strike the ball of another pupil out of the box.
  • If you succeed you move one square to the right.
  • If your ball is knocked away you move up one square to the left.
  • If you hit/tap someone's ball out of the box on the right you score a point.
  • If your ball is knocked out of the winner's box you lose all your points.
  • If your ball is knocked out of the left box nothing happens and you stay standing.
  • When the teacher gives the final signal the person with the most points is king of the court and he/she has won.

Variation:

  • With different tasks for the attackers or defenders.
  • For example:
    • forward defence
    • only forwards
    • paying attention to extra running into space and shooting from here.
  • 1 declarer throws the ball to the person in front of the basket
  • he then makes a shot when the ball is caught
  • under the basket he then goes inside
  • and takes a walkthrough ball
  • finally, he takes a short chance
    • you can play this like this, for example, who is the first to the 20
  • There are three players standing at a pole.
  • Player 1 starts with the ball and throws to 2, 3 runs first short and then long, then gets the ball from player 2 and shoots.
  • Player 1 catches and throws to player 2, player 2 throws to 3 and then player 1 runs the long line.
  • This is how the process repeats itself.

Variations:

  • Instead of shooting, player 1 cuts in and throws number 3 in and comes for the through ball
  • Same as above, but then player 3 does not take a walkthrough ball but pulls player 1 away and takes a short chance
