Korfball drills for technique shoot / score / shot

  • Divide into two teams.
  • Make two boxes around the basket so that good shots can be made from outside.
  • Need 3 or 4 balls per game.
  • Shooters stand outside the box and one rebounder per team stands in the box near the opponent's shooters.

Exercise:
  • The shooters start shooting from outside the box to get to X number of goals as fast as possible.
  • The rebounders catch the ball and play it to their fellow players in the other box.
  • Which team will have scored X number of goals first.
Rules:
  • Rebounders are not allowed outside the box, shooters not in it.
  • The rebounder's job is to estimate as quickly as possible where all the balls are coming and how to get them to your teammates as quickly as possible.
drawing Two box shooting
  • Player 3 picks up the ball and throws it to player 1.
  • Player 3 runs to the post.
  • Player 4 goes over block, player 3 to the pointer.
  • Player 1 throws the ball to player 2.
  • Player 2 throws the ball to player 3 who enters the give way.
  • Player 3 dodges and gets the ball moving, behind the post, and shoots.
  • Player 4 connects, next to player 3.
  • Player 1 runs to the front of the post and keeps the player engaged until shot.
  • Player 2 takes player 1's position and after the shot goes to the post for the double-catch, ball over the basket.
drawing Capture when dynamically attacking
  • Make 2-person teams
  • 1 player is shooter and the other player stands under the basket to trap.
  • They shoot 2 times and then switch.
  • When the shooter scores, they may take a cap from the middle.
  • When the caps in the middle run out, the player may take them from the other 2-times.
  • Whoever has the most caps at the end has won.
Setup:
  • X number of baskets.
  • Use colored dice corresponding to color baskets.
Variation 1:
  • Have the players use the dice to determine how many shots/ chances to score/take at each basket.
  • They may take the ball to the other basket while running. Dribble down the court.
Variant 2:
  • Different types of chances!
  • 1 hand, penalty throw, through ball while running with the ball, etc.
Variant 3:
  • Have the players use the dice to determine how many shots/opportunities to score/take at the basket corresponding to the color of the die.
Setup:
X number of baskets.

Variant 1:
Have the little players use the dice to determine how many shots/chances to score at each basket.

  • The Player who has the Rebound becomes shooter.
  • The Player who lost the Rebound duel now enters the rebound duel with the next player from the queue.
  • The shooter joins the queue.
Variant 2:
  • Same as Variation 1, but the Player who has the Rebound takes a short chance.
Variant 3:
  • Same as Variation 1, but the Rebounders now try to score a goal in the basket opposite. The Shooter becomes a defender.
Variant 4:
  • Same as Variant 3, but with maximum 1 or 2 passes towards the basket opposite.
  • One player starts under the basket with a ball.
  • The rest of the team stands around the basket at shot distance.
  • The playmaker throws to someone, who tries to score.
  • The playmaker catches/ fetches the ball.
  • If scored, the scoring person becomes the playmaker.
  • After each shot, another random player gets the ball and tries to score.
3 variants:

  • With two legs at the same time over the caps
  • Sprinting back and forth between the two pawns
drawing Walk-through balls with obstacles
  • The first ball is played deep from the front pocket.
  • Then the other front comes in and passes the ball.
  • The first passer runs over the block to the catch.
  • The back player runs on the ball side for a through ball to the post.
  • Alternatively, the ball is passed directly back for the distance shot.
  • The player under the post steps out as soon as the rebound is taken over from the front and ensures that the player with the ball has two points of attack.
