Korfballexercises for technique shoot / score / shot

  • Take a dodge ball, after which you do not shoot the ball but instead threaten to the basket for a through ball, but still dodge again. 2x the same way.
  • The ball is played in with the outside hand.
  • Score 10x on the left and 10x on the right.
  • Player A starts with the ball 2.5 meters diagonally in front of the post. Player B also stands 2.5 meters diagonally in front of the post.
  • Player A throws the ball to player B and player B throws it back. Thus they bring the ball up to about 8 meters in front of the post.
  • From there, player B starts for a through ball from the space indicated by player A.
  • However, instead of player B taking the through ball, it now enters the declarer and player A comes in for a clearance ball. Player B catches the ball.
A variation on this:
Only throw the ball when player B runs next to/behind the basket and player B immediately makes a shot. Player A immediately runs in to catch the ball.

There are more variations on this, such as:
  • Most goals in a time frame of, say, 10 minutes
  • Who scores 10 goals first
  • Make it more difficult by deducting a point for each ball on the ground.
  • Possibly with a 3rd player to rotate and keep a slightly slower pace.

drawing Shooting from space
  • Per person, everyone must score 10 through balls, this goes in groups of 3 or 4.
  • In case of a miss, the whole group goes to the other side of the field on pace run and back.
  • The one who missed takes the chance again.
  • Until 10 are scored per player.
drawing Walk-through ball with condition
  1. White throws to blue and blue passes to red.
  2. Blue goes for the breakthrough and gets it to red.
  3. Blue shoots and catches himself. White goes to blue's position.
  4. Blue plays the ball to red, who passes to white, then breaks through and gets the ball from white.
  5. Blue and red switch positions and so on.
  6. 20x scoring.
drawing Shot shapes in a triangle
  • For the example, I assume 6 / 7 players.
  • On a line the length of the field there are 3 poles spaced about 7 meters apart.
  • At each pole stands 1 player with ball.
  1. First the remaining players walk past all the posts and take a through ball everywhere.
  2. Repeat this 3 times and then switch positions.
  3. The next round are dodge balls to the left.
  4. The next round dodge balls to the right.
drawing Warming up
The goal is for each team to score 500x all together in the next 5 tasks. After each assignment there is an intermediate exercise for variety:

  • Assignment 1: Walk-through balls: score 120x
    • Intermediate task 1: match between3 posts of 5 minutes.
  • Assignment 2: Front basket shots from movement: score 80x
    • IntermediateAssignment 2: Take 2 minutes of walk-through balls with your group. What is the largest number you score in a row?
  • Assignment 3: Short chances with intermediate pass: score 120x . So play in and get back.
    • Intermediate assignment 3: which group scores the most goals from 6 meters in 3 minutes.
  • Assignment 4: Penalty throws: 100
    • Intermediate Assignment 4:
      • At each post there is one fixed shooter with a fixed rebounder.
      • In each round the shooters, within the time limit, must score one goal.
      • If a goal is scored, the ball is held.
      • If no goal is scored, within the time, the shooter is out of the game.
      • Games are played in the following rounds:
        Round 1: 10 seconds.
        Round 2: 5 seconds.
        Round 3: 3 seconds or 1 chance.
      • No shooter is changed until all rounds have been played.
      • Do all players miss in a round? Then the round will be played again!
  • Assignment 5: Shots back basket from movement: 80. Rotate posts 180° if necessary.
  • The first ball is played deep from the front pocket.
  • Then the other front comes in and passes the ball.
  • The first passer runs across the block to the catch.
  • The adjuster runs on the ball side for a through ball to the post.
Alternatively, the ball is played back directly for the distance shot.
  • The player under the post steps out as soon as the rebound is taken over from the front and ensures that the player with the ball has two points of attack.
drawing Rebound from the front over a block
  • Blue player with ball plays the ball to outrunning player under the post.
  • Then this one runs with it himself, gets the ball back and shoots.
  • The front player goes to the back and the back player to the front.
  • The red player in the diagonal catches and plays to red in front of the basket.
  • This one runs out, gets the ball back and plays back to the running red player, this one shoots and the blue player catches.
  • Again, the players switch positions.
Which pair scores 10x first?
drawing Dodge shot with pairs
Organization:
Three players per post.
1 player with ball diagonally in front of the basket at 7 meters.
The other player is also diagonally in front of the post.

  • The player under the basket pulls away making the player with ball the middle player.
    • Gets the ball thrown to him from the player in front of the basket. If the arrangement is good, he thus receives the ball a little diagonally.
    • This player runs to the post for the catch -rebound-.
    • The player in front of the basket comes next to it and gets the ball.
    • And comes to shot. Remember to turn in well to the basket with the hips.
We score 10x to the left and 10x to the right.
    • After the shot, the ball is played out to the first out runner, the catcher now runs out and play begins again.

  • Same as above
    • Only now the player who threw the ball in front of the basket comes next to it.
    • This one does not get the ball but cuts inside and makes a through ball from space without the ball.
      10x left and 10x right
    • Catches the ball himself and plays it to the first runner, the catcher now runs out and the game starts again.
  • The ball is played in from the front to the running player under the basket.
  • At the same time, this player runs over the fulcrum to the basket for the catch.
  • The fulcrum places the ball out to the other player in front, alternatively is to the back.
  • The support player comes out to the side of the player who received the ball and is played back in.
  • This doubles the ball back and the ball is shot by the front or back player.
  • The catch is made by the player in the catch -who has the back of the box, as seen from the shooter- .
  • The non shooter has the front.
  • The declarer watches for a catch and the shooter keeps moving for a breakthrough.
  • Score 5x from right front, 5x from right back, 5x from left front and 5x from left back.
  • We can practice this with triplets or foursomes.
drawing Attack with doubles
  • Set the hurdles 5 meters apart at 7 meters.
    • Jump over the hurdle, get the ball in the jump.
    • When you are on the ground with the outside leg, play the ball back and make a through ball.
    • 5pp left and 5 pp right.
  • Now put the hurdles 5 meters and 5 meters apart.
    • Jump over the hurdle, get the ball in the jump and shoot as you come down.
    • Score 5x pp.
  • Announcer with ball under the basket, shooter and defender in front of the basket.
  • The shooter gets free around the basket and takes 6 shots.
  • The defender may block a maximum of 2 of the 6 shots.
  • Passive pressure is applied to the other shots.

  • The intention is for the attacker to actually shoot regardless of what the defender does.
  • And the intention is to shoot convincingly, the balls that are not blocked must be really shot to score, so don't focus too much on the defender but just keep shooting.
  • With 4 players you have an extra rebounder.
