Korfballexercises for technique shoot / score / shot

In pairs at a basket with 5 markers. Starting at 1 meter to about 6 meters.
You may shoot 2x from any distance. 
Hit? Then you go one step further. 
Miss? Then the other goes and you start the next round again at the beginning.

  1. Which player scores first at the back line?
  2. Which player scores first from line 1 to 5 and then back to 1! so 1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1
Pairs per basket; one passer and one shooter.

  • After 5 shots switch positions.
  • If you hit, you get 2 points, if you miss, you lose one point.
  • Which pair will score 20 points first.
Player 1 places the ball to player 2 and runs to the post for the catch.

Just before taking that position, the player feints and steps out to the back/side or forward. 
If the player steps to the back/side, he gets the ball and shoots. Steps forward, gets the ball and plays it right back, allowing the 2nd player to shoot.

The catch in these cases is completed from space by two others.

Two poles at > 10m; two balls; under each post 3 players; player 1 to the right of the basket, players 2 and 3 to the left: other post idem 4 to the right 5 and 6 to the left.

As a warm up first with low intensity. Then increase the intensity. With pairs you are the first one after the shot. Pay attention.
  1. Player 1 moves the ball across to 5 and passes it to the other side; keep score up to x. 5 catches the ball and moves to the right of the basket etc.
  2. Ditto players turn half way whole round around each other. Then through ball
  3. Ditto with away ball
  4. Announcer pulls away to the right. Shooter too. So long passes. Forward rushes back to catch.
  • Run over two hurdles and then make a through ball 10x overhand, 10x underhand and 10x with 1 hand.
  • Start on the left side of the hurdle and move to the right behind the hurdle, then move forward and back to the left, then move forward and quarter to the right score 10x.
  • Then do this the other way around; score 10x
  • Put the hurdles 5 meters apart, move to the left, jump over the hurdle and get the ball at the same time, come down, jump up and shoot at the same time, then to the right score 20x .
  • Player 1 is the attacker
  • Player 2 is the receiver
  • Player 3 is the forward
  1. Player 2 starts with the ball, who throws it to player 3 and then immediately runs to the basket, taking the catch.
  2. Player 1 runs simultaneously to the middle of the field where player 3 throws the ball back to player 1.
  3. Player 3 immediately runs to the short where the one becomes the server.
  4. Player 1 immediately throws the ball back to player 3 who is now under the basket.
  5. Player 1 makes an in out shot.
  6. 5-10 goals.

In pairs. One declarer and one attacker.
Communicator stands under the basket, attacker stands in front of the basket.




  • The attacker runs wide left/right and gets the ball on the outside hand.
  • Try to catch and play back with one hand.
  • On the 4th pass the attacker is going to take a shot.
  • Swap after 2 turns.
  • Emphasis on solid passes, and acceleration after re-playing.
Game:
  • Team stands in a row at basket 1.
  • Participant 1 starts shooting, then participant 2 starts shooting immediately.
  • If participant 2 scores before participant 1 then participant 1 is off and goes to basket 2.
  • Participant 2 joins behind.
  • If participant 1 scores earlier, she goes to the back.
  • Participant 3 joins the shooting. If she shoots before participant 2, then she joins at the back and participant 2 goes to basket 2.
  • This game continues on all four baskets until there is a winner on basket 1.
Agreements
  • You may interfere defensively, but not knock the ball away.

The goal of these drills is for threesomes/foursomes to keep moving at a steady pace and take turns taking a chance to score.
The shots come from all sides of the basket.
  • Scoring 40 through balls, the shooter catches the ball himself and 1 of the 2 others comes in for a chance. In case of a 4-pointer, the ball can be caught by another player.
  • Score 15 dodge balls. When the ball is caught, the third player immediately makes an evasive move and is played. Timing is important.
  • 20 distance shots from about 6-8 meters from the basket, again keep moving until you get the ball.
Finally, each player scores 5 penalty shots in a row. The others can stretch in that time if they want.
Per basket 2 teams of 2
Mark the shot distance with cones

  • Per team a declarator/ rebounder and a shooter.
  • The goal is to score 5x as a shooter, then you earn 1 point for your team.
  • When 1 of the 2 teams has a point, both switch positions and start again with the goal of scoring 5x.
  • The team that has 3 points first wins.
Pay close attention to the basic technique of the shot. Important to execute well. Often players will tend to shoot quickly under time pressure.
Goal of the training:
Picking up the shot, directly in a mutual duel and building up condition.

Shot duel
Per pair a ball and a pole

  • Make 2 out of 5 distance shots from 6 meters.
  • Then you get one chance from 4 meters.
  • You must score the one from 4 meters to earn a point.
  • Your opponent can undo this point by also scoring the chance from 4 yards.

  • Score 3 of the 5 short chances from 4 meters
  • Then score 2 penalty shots, at 2, to earn a point.
  • Your opponent can undo this by also scoring both penalty shots.

  • Score 2 of the 5 shots behind the basket from 5 meters.
  • Then score 3 through balls, from 3 chances , to earn a point.
  • Your opponent can undo this point by also scoring 3 walk-through balls.

  • Scoring 1 of 5 distance shots from 8 meters.
  • Then score 3 out of 4 chances under the basket.
  • Your opponent can undo this by scoring 3 out of 3 chances under the basket.

Exercises with broom stick
1 stick per person.

  • Stick in neck, feet shoulder-width apart;
    rotate arms while continuing to look forward. Repeat until the oblique abdominal muscles sour.

  • Stick in neck, feet shoulder-width apart;
    now squat. Knees at 90 degrees.
    15x

  • Hold the stick in front of your abdomen with your hands as far apart as possible.
    Now you bring the stick over your head to your back and back again.

    Variation:

    • Hold the stick in front of your belly with your hands as far apart as possible. Bring the stick over your head to your back with 1 hand high and 1 hand low. 10x. 
    • Hold the stick in front of your belly with your hands as far apart as possible. Bring the stick over your head to your back with the other hand high and over the other shoulder. 10x. 
    • Put the stick vertically on your hand and balance with it.
      On each hand 15 seconds.
    • Lunge with stick in the neck. Large step forward and bend through the other knee. Drop off on front leg and return to starting position. Each leg 10x

Sticks on pawns
Work in pairs. One works, the other rests.
12 pawns and 6 sticks needed.

  • Forward through odd row of sticks and back by the even row of sticks,
    so you keep looking one way. 10x each
  • Make sideways movements between the sticks from left to right and right to left, then walk backwards to the end of the box. Each 10x
  • Stepping sideways between the sticks from left to right and right to left, then sprinting to the end of the box.
    With both legs between the sticks as in speed ladder. Each 10x
  • Leap over the stick between the pawns left/right.
    At each stick 2x to the right and 2x to the left. 3 times each
  • In pairs run over all the sticks and sprint to the end of the field.
    1 foot between the stick. Each 10x.

Closing
Mutual game

We work in pairs.

  • Score 20 distance shots. The first player shoots, the second catches and plays the first player again and pulls away from the basket to about 6 yards.
    Gets the ball and shoots. The second player catches, plays on and pulls away.
  • Score 20 penalty shots together.
  • Score 20 dodge balls of max 3 meters, change after 5 shots.
  • Score 20 times after a move from the post to the side.
  • Score 20 small chances from behind the post, change after 5 shots.
