Korfball drills for technique warming-up

Per 2 or 3 players:

  • Timing is important. Work with fixed function
  • With 3 players, player blue is the declarer, player red is going to take a through ball, player white makes sure the action for the shot is started at the right moment.
  • Then player red also goes to drop in again at the right moment.
  • Exchange after 10 actions.

  • With 2 players, the shooter of the ball is also the one who catches the ball.
  • After a rebound, the ball is passed to the shooter and the player under the basket goes out again.
  • Ball is played laterally and support is called again for the through ball.
  • Change after 7 chances -2x-.

  • Players spread out in a box
  • All players, except the ticker, have a ball
  • The ticker tries to tap everyone.
  • If a player is tagged, he or she goes to the posts to score.
  • If successful, the player returns to the box.
  • If a player drops the ball, they are also out.

  • White catches off, plays to red, and so on.

  • Score 15 swerve balls, keeping all 3 moving all the time. When the ball appears to be in possession of the rebounder, the next shooter steps away.
  • score 20 distance shots from movement and do this from all sides.

  • Pairs with ball, multiple baskets.
  • Red player runs in gets the ball, white player runs past him/her and gets the ball back.
  • Red player then runs to the basket for a through ball.
  • Then to the second post, with the same ball handling.
  • The second pair starts when the first pair has passed the first post.
  • Score 30 through balls per pair.

Work with 3 or 4-person teams:
  • Make 15 through balls without missing
  • 20 distance shots on the move, maximum 2 shots in a row.
  • 15 dodge balls with double effort, so pass back and dodge again, the server gives light pressure on the shot.
  • 20 step-off balls behind the basket, indicating from a breakthrough, then the rebounder steps off and shoots. Step on time, not too early.
  • 15 penalty throws without missing. Take them alternately.
  • 20 shots from standstill at 3/4 yards; grab the focus.
  • You form 2 teams with the same number of players.
  • Each team has its own box.
  • On the back line of that box, both teams have tall pawns upside down.
  • The trick is for the other team to knock over the pawns.
  • Using fending off and defending the pawns you can win with your team.
  • All pawns of the opponent to then won.
Setup:
  • X number of baskets.
  • Use colored dice corresponding to color baskets.
Variation 1:
  • Have the players use the dice to determine how many shots/ chances to score/take at each basket.
  • They may take the ball to the other basket while running. Dribble down the court.
Variant 2:
  • Different types of chances!
  • 1 hand, penalty throw, through ball while running with the ball, etc.
Variant 3:
  • Have the players use the dice to determine how many shots/opportunities to score/take at the basket corresponding to the color of the die.
  • Divide the group into groups of 3.
  • Give each group 5 jars in 5 different colors.
  • 1 player goes to work -red, 1 player indicates -blue, 1 player coaches -white.
  • Player red starts running action from pot to pot in slalom and takes a run-in.
  • Player white coaches player red and indicates which jar player red should go back and start again, again in slalom.
  • If player red scores from a color pot, player white takes the pot away.
  • Exercise continues until every color pot is scored.
