Execution
- Mark out an area of 30 by 40 metres.
- Assign each player a number.
- Players pass in numerical order: from player 1 to player 2, to player 3, and so on, while moving through the area.
- Use 2-3 balls to increase speed and awareness.
- Ensure players move throughout the entire area and do not just stand close to the players they need to pass to.
- Players must call for the ball when it is their turn and shout the name of the player they are going to pass to.
- Have players perform specific actions when making a pass, for example: play the ball into the run.
- The receiving player must accelerate.
- The odd numbers may only touch the ball once, the even numbers twice.
- Alternate these rules.
Execution
- Player 1 passes the ball to Player 2.
- Player 2 dribbles around the cones and passes at the end to Player 3.
- Player 3 returns the ball to Player 2.
- Player 2 finishes with a shot on goal.
- Player 3 retrieves the ball and takes the position of Player 1.
- Player 1 moves to the position of Player 2.
- Player 2 moves to the position of Player 3.
Description
- The taggers attempt to tag a player with their hands.
- Once a player is tagged, they must stand still with their legs spread apart.
- The player can be 'freed' if another player who is not tagged crawls under them.
- Switch taggers after a certain period of time.
- Dependent on age and skill level.
- Length: 30-40 metres.
- Width: 20-25 metres.
Setup
- Left: 3 white cones with 10 foot lengths between, first cone 10 foot lengths from the line.
- Right: 3 blue cones with 10 foot lengths between, starting on the line.
- There are 3 lanes, exercises are performed in the lane.
- Rejoin via the zebra crossing (space between the lanes).
- White cones: with left foot.
- Blue cones: with right foot.
- Tap tap stop (same foot).
- Tap stop (straight through the lane), alternating feet.
- Tap tap drag.
- Tap tap make a V.
- Tap tap cut.
- Tap tap behind support leg.
- Tap tap step over.
- Tap tap scissors.

- These technique lanes can be used as a warm-up in every training session.
Objective
- Learn to move after making a pass.
- Combination of crossing and finishing.
- Suitable for boys aged 7-8 years.
- Red player passes to blue player and runs towards the corner flag.
- Blue player returns the ball into the deep towards the corner flag.
- Red player delivers a cross to the incoming blue player.
- Blue player finishes.
- Good initial pass.
- Move towards the ball for the return pass.
- Return pass into the deep.
- Do not run in too early when finishing.
Execution
- Pass the ball and move quickly.
Setup
- The players form groups of three. Two players stand by one cone, and the third player stands directly opposite them.
- The front player of the two at the cone has the ball and passes it directly to the feet of the player opposite her. Then, this player sprints to the other side and stands by the cone.
- The other player receives the ball and passes it to the one now standing opposite her. This pattern repeats continuously.
- Dribble with the ball at the foot.
Execution
- Player 1 begins by dribbling along five cones.
- Player 1 then passes to Player 2 who is waiting at a cone.
- Player 2 returns the ball to Player 1.
- Player 1 finishes with a shot on goal.
- Player 2 retrieves the ball and joins the end of the line.
- Player 1 takes position at the cone to receive the next pass.
Field Setup
- Mark out a field with four cones, 10 by 10 metres.
- Divide the players into two groups. One group moves horizontally from left to right. The other group moves vertically from bottom to top.
- At the whistle signal, players return to their starting position.
- Players must not touch each other or the ball of another player. In case of contact, both the player and the one who is touched receive a penalty point.
- Crossing is only allowed at the whistle signal from the trainer.
Setup
- Place three cones as reference points in a triangle.
- Players stand in pairs at each cone.
- The rear player performs the exercise.
- The player gets open from the player in front.
- A firm, hard pass is given along the ground.
- The receiver controls the ball with the furthest foot and passes to the next player.
- After the pass, the player sprints to the cone where they passed the ball.
- The player takes position in front of the player still standing there.
- Accurate and firm passing.
- Good one-touch ball control.
- Getting free from the defender.
Setup
- Large cones are placed 3 meters outside the penalty area.
- Player C stands 10 meters outside the penalty area.
- The distance between C and B is 10 meters.
- The distance between B and A is 5 meters.
- Large cones act as opponents.
- Player A passes the ball to player B.
- B turns away from the opponent towards the inside and plays a through pass between the defenders into the running path of C.
- Player C finishes on goal.
- After the action, A becomes player B, B becomes C, and C retrieves the ball and joins the back of the line.
- The exercise then starts on the other side.
- Ensure that player C does not leave too early to avoid being offside.
- Do not leave too late, otherwise the goalkeeper can easily collect the ball.
Objective
- Practise switching sides during a match.
- Quickly transition from defending to attacking.
- Set up the goals with different coloured cones.
- Adjust the field size as desired, depending on the number of players.
- Form two teams; playing with a numerical disadvantage or advantage is possible but not necessary.
- Emphasise teamwork, not individual scoring.
- Start with a passing round, then call out a colour of a cone and they must score there.
- Continue scoring at that goal until a new colour is called.
- Begin with a new colour every 30-60 seconds, increase the pace if it goes well.
- Add an extra dimension by passing the ball in from the side when the ball is out.
- Players must come to the ball, otherwise the ball is not played.
- Adjust the level of difficulty to the team's level.
