Kind of King of the Court
- 2 on 2
- Trainer starts rally on points half. If the points half players do not win rally they receive a second ball, otherwise just keep counting.
- Play rally full time, attack and defense.
- Other players make sure the balls get into the ball pit quickly.
- Depending on the number of players, or fixed 2 numbers, or just connect behind and alternating 2 numbers.
- Practice setup underhand because of emergency balls or ill fitting balls.
- The trainer throws the balls to player 2 who plays the ball underhand to the right front.
- Player 1 walks to this position and gives an underhand setup on the outside where player 2 attacks.
- After this action player 1 goes to position of player 2 and player 3 comes to position of player 1. etc.
- The attackers get the balls themselves and put them back in the ballcar.
- When the pass is going well you can increase the pace so that the exercise continues and people do not have to wait too long.
- Number of players serving and other pass/defending
- After the serve the server goes to the other side --> waiting room pass/defence
- pass to 2/3 --> discard
ROTATION
- Server --> other side waiting room (defence) --> passer --> returner --> returner --> serve
EXTENSION
- Instead of the off-side defender a fixed SV --> passer attacks own ball
- Attacker --> serve
- SV stays put (do change)
- Divide the group into pairs
- Of which 1 pair stands the other side (serve)
- 1st team is ready for the pass.
- After the serve the first server goes to the other side,
- After the serve the 2nd server joins the 1st server across the court.
- Defenders: build an attack, ball should be in threes
- The pair that did the defense/attack --> serve
- Etc
- Steady ball in for incoming pass
- Who chooses to attack,
- 3 blockers
- 3 defenders at 1 side of the court the rest at the other side all with ball (server)
- Servers serve the ball, the defenders have to pass it to the TR (position 2/3)
- Change players regularly!
- Point count:
- Good serve and bad pass is 1 point, but wrong serve is deduction of one point --> servers
- Good pass is 1 point, but wrong pass is deduction of one point --> defenders
- Who is first to reach 7 points
- TR rolls the ball to the servers
- The goal is to play the ball in threes. This requires the commitment of every player.
- So line up three players.
- They solve a thrown ball (by the trainer), by playing in threes.
- The first ball is passed to the upper-position.
- The 2nd player, who has the job of upper-player, runs to the upper-place.
- The 3rd player then prepares for the attack.
- At first keep the ball on one side of the net, by not actually hitting the 3rd ball, but catching it.
- Then 3 other players move in to do the same.
- On the other side of the net, the same is practiced with the other half of the team.
- After a while, when the ball is regularly played in threes, the ball is actually played to the other side.
- The team on the other side then plays the ball back in threes.
- And so on; play over as long as possible.
- No scoring, it's about playing in threes.
- Organisation: Make three teams with one ball.
- Execution:
- 2 players stand opposite each other at approx. 5m.
- The third player is "distributor" and stands to the right of the passer.
- Player 1 plays brace to 2nd player and he passes the ball to the right, where the Sv is standing.
- This gives player 2 a setup, which is attacked on player 1.
- Meanwhile, Sv runs to the right side of player 1 to receive the pass there.
