Volleyballexercises for technique attack / smash / spike / hitting

  • There is a team lineup. On the other side are the remaining players.
  • There is serving by the remaining players and a side-out is played with a tactical attack. Prick center or attack in corners; there are no defenders at that time.
  • This ball is followed by a rally ball from the trainer and must be scored "hard" and the rally must be won from the remaining players.
  • The 1st ball counts for 1 point, the 2nd ball counts as 2 points. For both sides. Which side wins?
  • Libero in position 5.
  • Ball is struck by SV 1 from position 4.
  • SV 2 runs in from position 1 and has a choice of 3 attackers.
  • Opposite 3 blockers or defenders.
  • After the rally Tr. serves and attacks again.
  • Then the playmakers change.
  • Another attacker is played twice.
  • Scoring 2x is 3 points, scoring 1x is 1 point and scoring 0x is exchange.
  • Who will have 15 points first?
  • Passer starts at position 5, with foot on the three-meter line.
  • Ball is thrown up and hit from position 1 other side.
  • When thrown up, the passer may move.
  • Catcher runs in from position 4 to 2/3 and takes place on the mat.
  • Pass on mat is 1 point, catcher then serves from 1 to 5.
  • In the zone is 1 point, on the mat is 2 points.
  • Then retrieve ball and attack.
  • Whoever gets to 15 points first wins.

Variation
  • Same, only now with 2 regular players, who take turns starting from position 4.
  • An attacker is now added.
  • The passer and passer make room for the new passer.
  • The one who attacked serves again.
  • The one who attacked goes to defend in the straight and then goes to block.
  • The one who blocked becomes the reserve passer.
  • Points can be gained by good pass, good service, score in attack or good defense, block can catch ball.
  • Who will reach 20 points first?
  • Base is butterfly with fixed SV.
  • Two pass on side B.
  • Player throws ball on two pass.
  • Pass is P/L. possibly build out with middle attack.
drawing pass movement (2 action volleyball)
  • 3 blockers ; 1 outside and 2 middle.
  • 1 SV.
  • Rest attacks.
Exercise
  • TR plays the ball in to the libero.
  • Libero pass --> SV -libero stays standing--> With more players, the guard can come in, 6.
  • Player 3 attacks --> player 1 and 2 are low in attack coverage.
  • Attacker becomes defender and defender becomes attacker.
Blockers
Outside people set the block and the middle connects, the other outside becomes free net player in defense.

Rotation
  • Everyone stays in their own position --> TR decides when we switch SV and attackers --> CAUTION the centers keep blocking !!!
  • With more players we can rotate through: 1 or 2 --> attacker --> waiting room, 6, comes in for defense.
  • Attacker becomes waiting room blocker - behind 5.
  • Blocker 3 --> gets the ball --> into ball carrier.
NOTE: maybe an extra man in the waiting room defense, then remove 1 blocker -4 or 5-.
drawing Impact with blocking and spin through
Attack, DIAGONAL, applies to everyone:
  • Full smash or good tight push ball.
  • And/or far ball into the backfield.
1. Attack diagonal.
  • Player 1 in position 5 throws the ball towards 2/3.
  • Player 2 at position 1 runs towards 2/3 and provides a set-up for the attacker coming from position 5. attack is at position 4/3.
  • Attacker retrieves the ball, setter moves into group position 5.
2. Same with a defender.
  • This defender really has to do everything possible to get the ball somehow anyway.
  • Defender gets the ball and joins the group of setters, attacker becomes defender, setter becomes attacker.
3. Same but with 2 defenders.

4. Same but with 2 defenders and a blocker. Fixed group of 3.
  • Blocker comes from position 3.
  • They can switch between blocker/defender positions.
  • Swap after a certain number of balls.
5. Same but with fixed setter.
  • This means that the group at position 1 disappears. Fixed group of 3.
  • Blocker comes from position 3.
  • These may switch positions blocker/defender among themselves.
6. Same but with fixed setter, 2 defenders, 2 blockers. Fixed group of 4.
  • These may switch positions.
  1. Trainer serves on 2 passers: passer/runner and libero.
    1. Player is ahead and has a choice of attackers at 1, 3 and 4.
    2. Opposite these are 3 blockers.
    3. Player at position 4 "blocks" on the playmaker and blocks supportively on the middle.
    4. If the attack goes to position 1, the blockers in position 3 and 4 jointly move outside.
    5. The service may be followed by a rally ball and over time a match can be played between attackers and blockers.
  2. Same as 1. only now the playmaker is behind.
    1. Blockers face the attacker 1 on 1.
    2. Player in position 4 therefore does not block along the middle.

drawing Attack from the service pass and coordination block/defense
  • Pairs with 1 ball.
  • Player at the net has the ball.
  • Who hits the ball out of position to defender who is ready at 6 meters.
  • Defender plays ball back into attacker's hands.
  • Attacker catches ball and hits again.
  • After 5x substitutions
Variant:
  • Same only now play continues so attacker no longer catches the ball but plays it to himself and then attacks from position.
  • Attacker now jumps at attack.
  • There are 3 threesomes, a 1 playmaker and 1 libero.
  • 1 trio will serve and defend, 1 trio will block and 1 trio will pass, along with the libero, and attack.
  • Sets always start at 18-18 and the match is played between attackers and defenders/blockers.
  • Attackers can only score directly from the side-out.
  • If the ball is defended, it must be caught by the right forward.
  • If that succeeds, it is a point for the defenders/blockers, otherwise for the attackers.
  • Row of attackers and blockers on the 3 -meter line.
  • TR plays rally ball on attacker 1.
  • Blocker 4 goes to the net.
  • 1 passes to S and calls where he wants the set-up; left, center or right.
  • Blocker follows the attacker and blocks.
  • Attacker gets the ball, connect behind your own row of attackers.
  • When the attackers score 10 x the attacker and blocker switch.
drawing Attackers against blockers
This drill can be played in warm-up by allowing only throwing and OH.
Can work with 1 attempt pass-through system or with certain amount of time.

  1. Duos throw the ball into the net, other player defends.
Variation: - Stroke into the net
    - Stroke on the ground then into the net
    - Pair with OH BH AAV to a certain goal such as a (bicycle tire)
    - With points system

  2. 2 players each at the starting potty with 1 ball. Play the ball to each other.
    Variation:
     - Players each stay on 1 side: with rhythm: BH BH - OH -OH -BH BH ....
Players play in a Z by means of an intermediate button, the 1st player takes the place of the 2nd.

  3. Idem 1 but ball is thrown into the Tchouk. Player 2 defends.
    - Game with only BH and OH in the tchouk, point when the defender cannot defend it is a point. Max 2 contacts per player.
Variation: definitely work with a playing field
    - If point by attack/strike = 2 points, if OH/BH = 1 point.
