drawing Batting with libero and blocks
This drill can be played in warm-up by allowing only throwing and OH.
Can work with 1 attempt pass-through system or with certain amount of time.

  1. Duos throw the ball into the net, other player defends.
Variation: - Stroke into the net
    - Stroke on the ground then into the net
    - Pair with OH BH AAV to a certain goal such as a (bicycle tire)
    - With points system

  2. 2 players each at the starting potty with 1 ball. Play the ball to each other.
    Variation:
     - Players each stay on 1 side: with rhythm: BH BH - OH -OH -BH BH ....
Players play in a Z by means of an intermediate button, the 1st player takes the place of the 2nd.

  3. Idem 1 but ball is thrown into the Tchouk. Player 2 defends.
    - Game with only BH and OH in the tchouk, point when the defender cannot defend it is a point. Max 2 contacts per player.
Variation: definitely work with a playing field
    - If point by attack/strike = 2 points, if OH/BH = 1 point.
drawing OP - Engineering - stroke
You can do this exercise as a warm-up. By overthrowing the ball and playing into the received balls.

Passing: Follow ball.

Variation:
  • Ball is no longer thrown over but technically hit. Defense + pass.
  • Ball is tested over in one time. Defense + pass with intermediate test.
  • Ball overturned on pass.
  • Skip ball.
  • Play in other direction.
drawing Play around - OP
Exercise 1:
  • Ball inspector to setter.
  • Setter passes alternately to 4 & 2 .
  • Attackers slide through. We continue to play through.
  • Variation: Can be on 2 sides or build out with attack behind the 3
Exercise 2:
  • Same exercise 1; 1 defender and 1 attacker per side.
  • We play over the net.
  • The attackers pass the balls diagonally to the defenders.
  • We play on in one time.
  • Variation: Place ball overplay or technical attack.

drawing Pass - 4 + 2
Organization:
  • Trainer/player and ball pit on field B p4.
  • Block field B on P2/ P3 and defend p5.
  • 2 players on field A on P2/ P3 block.
  • Defending field B on P4 and P5.
Execution:
  • Trainer/player hits ball to P4/ P5.
  • Block and turn immediately after the action.
  • Defend ball, setup and attack on P4.
  • Block-defend-catch.
Run:
Attack p4-block p2-block p3-reserve
block p2-block- p3-reserve p5-defend p5
  • Divide the team into two groups and have them form two rows facing each other on the 3 meter line.
  • Have the players play over the net and then run around the net post to join the other group.
  • On 1 side, parallel to the sideline, lay a speedfoot ladder and before joining the line have the players do a drill through the ladder.
  • Possibly expand with block jumps, attack passes or strength exercises.
  • Importantly, do not allow the ball to fall to the ground, communication is important.
  • Possibly add a penalty if the ball falls to the ground.
  • Alternate with underarm and overhand.
drawing Warm up with ball
2-team overthrow with a twist with two balls:
  • Throwing over and catching at the same time.
  • One throws the ball, the other throws their own ball in the air, catches the thrown ball, and before their own ball comes back and is caught, throw the thrown ball back.
  • One throws the ball, the other throws own ball in the air, catches the thrown ball, turns it around the body, and before the own ball should be caught again, the thrown ball goes back.
  • 3 balls. The one with the 2 balls throws the ball over, the other throws their own ball in the air, catches the thrown ball, quickly throws it back, and catches their own ball.
2 pairs a ball:
  • Overplay.
  • One for yourself and 2nd ball back. Then a push ball and then a smash.
On 2 sides of the net a group:
  • Play fullback, defense from a set-up.
If a 4 team, one setter, one attacker, 2 defenders.
If a 3 then a setter, who plays the ball once for himself and then attacks.

Duration: 4 minutes and then rotate.

  • Trainer hits a ball into the field at mid back where a passer is standing,
  • He passes it to 2/3 .
  • SV comes running in from right back and gives a set on outside or back.
  • They attack the other team.
  • If they can continue to play, the rally continues.
  • When a point is made you start hitting the ball into the field at the other team.
  • Who is the first to the 3 points
  • Then you rotate 3 spots
    • Why? Because otherwise you have to jump and attack 2 times in a row as left forward and then 2 times in a row in the backfield. Afterwards you have variation.
drawing practice system right back
2 groups:

Group 1 is going to serve and pass, on a long half of the court.
Group 2 is going to smash.

  • Fixed setter.
  • Attacker stands facing the net.
  • At the signal of the trainer, the player plays a block, and the ball comes from the trainer towards the setter. After the feint block, the attacker goes backwards for an attack.
  • This can be a 1st tempo ball short, normal for a middle or a 2nd tempo ball for a runner, outside.
  • Just vary in this, and have attacker do both variations.
Swap.

Set-up:
  • Block on 2. (basket) Mid front (Setter) and 2.
  • Agree who does the block coverage. My preferred position 1. The person closest to it, of course 6, 5 and 4 must defend field.
After 5 balls rotation. Variation a 2nd and/or 3rd ball can follow.

If there is still time, block on middle, and/or block on 4. Note: block coverage.

4 v 3 or 4 v 4.
Full set, doesn't have to be a regular setter. Trainer starts the rally.

6. Same as 3 but b keys ball up, 2CT - low - high and hits own ball.

7. Per two 1 ball.
  • Hit ball directly against wall, no CT, try as high a range as possible 5 x.
