Hockeyexercises for u12

  • A and B are going to play over with each other. Before they get the ball, they look to see if there is a fellow player in the box who is free.
  • The attackers in the box offer themselves to the two players who are playing over.
  • If you have offered yourself and you do not get the ball, you run away again, make room for the other players and come back to offer yourself again later.
  • When the ball has come to one of the attackers, a 4:3 is played, if there is no space forward then they play the ball back to A or B and it starts all over again.
  • If the defenders take the ball then they score in one of the 2 goals outside the 23 meter area.

  • A starts with the ball and passes the ball to B.
  • B takes the ball and passes right back to A.
  • C runs wide and gets a hard ball from A.
  • B runs up towards the circle and gets the ball back from C who cannot move forward due to the defender standing there.
  • B takes the ball and accelerates towards the circle and hits the goal.

  • A starts with the ball a has a hard flats to B.
  • B passes the ball back to C.
  • C then makes a passing move past the pawns.
  • B runs through and plays with C who rebounds.
  • C has got the ball back and passes the ball back to the run through A.
  • After several balls apply the 1touch in the circle.

  • A starts with the ball and passes the ball back to B.
  • A and B start playing a 2 : 2 against the 2 defenders standing there.
  • The 2 defenders who are waiting to see what the attackers are going to do. The first defender who stays on the 23 meter line. The other defender sticks around by the circle.
  • Let the attackers come and play to that.

  • Divide the group into two.
  • Group 1 is going to play party in the box.
  • Group 2 does the drill:
    • A gives a scoop to B.
    • C sees space on the sideline and accelerates that way and gets a hard pass from B.
    • C and D play and 2:1 against the defender.
    • If the defender takes the ball then she scores in the goaltending on the side.
  • Alternate groups.

  • B makes an elevator assumption over the bar.
  • Accelerates around the 2 pawns.
  • Finishes with a strike on goal.

Goal :
  • To take on and pass at speed in movement.
Execution:
  • A pushes to B,
  • A runs along the 23 meter line and gets the ball back from B.
  • A takes on the run and passes immediately to C who comes up the sideline and passes immediately to D on the back line.
    • If there are only 3, C runs to the back line.
  • D takes on the ball and dribbles into the circle.
  • D passes to head of circle (A)
  • A gives a hard pass to B for tip in.

Variations 1. start on the other touchline so that the whole width of the field is covered. 2. do the same exercise the other way 3 A shot on goal and gets another rebound ball from B

Goal :
  • Transfer , quick assumptions and passing
Execution :
  • A does Indian dribble at the pawns
  • Pass to B.
  • B takes open and passes immediately to C who comes up along the sideline.
  • C runs on to the back line and runs via the back line in the direction of the goal.
  • C passes back to A at the head of the circle.
  • A scores.

Points of attention:
  • Clean passing
  • Quick passing and
  • Correct passing in the run

Variations :
  1. From the other side
  2. Instead of dribble 3 D, introduce aerial dribble or passing moves (drag, dummy).
  3. B takes closed take instead of open take.
  4. C can come up unhanded along the back line,
  5. C, after taking the ball, passes straight to the far-post area where A goes.
  6. Bring in the rebound
  7. From B to C a high ball.

Exercise 1:
  • A passes to B
  • A runs on to the cones and receives the ball back from B
  • A makes a lift action over the cones
  • C runs in towards the pawns and receives the ball from A and also makes a lift action over the pawns.
  • C finishes with the backhand on goal
  • Tips:
    • Open up the stick enough when taking the lift action
Exercise 2:
  • A gives a high push to B
  • B takes the ball and plays a 2:1 together with C.
  • They want to score on the big goal.
  • If the Defender takes the ball away they may score in the small goal at the side.
  • Defender:
    • Close up the shaft and push them out
    • Stand between the person with the ball and the person without the ball
    • You will then close off the pass line
  • Attackers
    • Create speed
    • Over the backhand side of the opponent
    • Only pass the ball when the person is really free, otherwise just hold on

  • B passes the ball back to A
  • A receives the ball and runs up a bit
  • B runs wide and gets a hard flat from A.
  • B takes the ball with a lift and accelerates to the circle and finishes with the backhand on goal
  • Tips:
    • Look at the ball
    • Putting the stick down far enough open
    • Look at your team-mate

  • There is a box of 4 different colored pawns.
  • The players start 5 to 10 meters away from the box (in this case the 23 meter line).
  • The trainer calls out a number of colors in succession.
  • E.g. Blue red orange blue.
  • The players then run to those pawns and then back to where they started.
