Hockey drills for technique warming-up

  • Put out six pilons in a row with +/- five meters between each pilon.
  • This is best done on the 23 meter line as shown in figure 1. 
  • Again make two rows and let the team sprint from the sideline to the first pylon and back, then from the sideline to the second pylon and back.
  • Repeat this until the sixth pylon. 
  • After these sprint exercises let the team run half a lap. 

Aim:

  • To become physically as well as technically warm as preparation for the training.


Design:

  • The exercise will be done with a maximum of 4 people. 
  • Of course you can put a multiple of these so that the exercise still works.
    • The players 1 start with the ball and play it to their players 2. Then they change positions.
    • Players 2 play the ball back to players 1 and also change positions.

Variations:

  • You can vary the way of passing (hitting, push, flats)
  • Increase the distance between the pilons so that one only has to walk further.
  • Increase the distance between the pilons so that one only has to move on.
  • Increase both distances.
  • Increase speed
  • Make as many successful passes as possible in time.


Points of attention:

  • Sit low for good control.
  • Stick to the ground at ball control.
  • Play ball on the forehand side.
  • Stand still at ball acceptance.



  • Player 1 plays player 2 in the run
  • Player 2 runs around pawn B to the next pawn C
  • Player 2 passes to player 3 at cone C
  • Player 3 passes the ball back immediately at cone D
  • Player 2 takes the ball back in the run
  • Player 2 passes the ball to player 1 at pawn A

  • Repeat this for 3 minutes
  • With 2 players simultaneously in the square is also possible

Conquer the goaltending:

  • Team blue and team red
  • With a controlled pass through the goalmouth, you "conquer" the goal.
  • The team that conquered all the goals wins.
  • A goal can be recaptured by the other side playing a controlled pass through that goal.

  • Float to the first jar
  • Turn around the potty
  • Return to starting potty and turn around there as well
  • Repeat for each pot
  • When they have gone around all the pots they pass the ball to the next one
  • Try to be as fast as possible

Already dribbling to the pots, bra float, with one hand.

Red player starts with the ball and begins drifting to the next pot and then pushes the ball to the blue player.
The blue player takes open around the pot and then also drifts to the next pot and then pushes to red again!

Sprint around the pawns, always via the middle pawn.

there is 1 ticker and the rest have to try to grab the stretcher and eventually the tennis ball along 2 sides of the square if the ticker ticks you you have to put the stretcher back and try again

1) the player jumps over the fence and then jumps from where she stands with 1 leg into the hoop and back for the next fence

2) you jump sideways over the fence and then jump with 1 leg into the 2 hoops, are you at the outer hoop you jump over the hoop back next to the fence.
3) you jump over one fence sideways and back with 1 big step you jump to the other fence and jump back over it and back and then sprint to the little pawn.

Warm up exercise in relay form

  • Divide the players into groups of 2 or 3 players and place them on the left side of the field.
  • Give each player a tennis ball.
  • At the start sign, the 1st player of each group starts running to the other, right, side with a ball.
  • Once there, they put the ball outside the line and run back as fast as they can so that player 2 of their group can start running with his/her ball.
  • When all the balls are on the right side and the last player has returned to his/her group, it is over.
  • The first one back to his/her group wins.
