Korfballexercises for technique attack / score

Formation
  • Form two groups. The attacker receives a bib.
Execution
  • The attacker starts with one defender.
  • Within a playing area, the attacker must try to get free.
  • At the front of the playing area stands the feeder, who must ensure the ball reaches the attacker well.
  • The remaining players stand along the side.
  • If the attacker receives the ball successfully without the defender intercepting it, an additional defender joins.
Objective
  • Get free
  • Throwing
  • Avoid contact
Formation
  • Three children per korfball post.
  • One attacker, one defender, and one feeder/collector.
Execution
  • The attacker tries to score.
  • The defender tries to prevent this.
  • Switch roles when the attacker has scored.
Setup
  • 3 players per korf.
  • Player A starts as the attacker in front of the korf.
  • Player D starts as the defender at a distance of 1.5 arm lengths from the shooter.
  • Player C begins with the ball in the rebound position/support position.
Execution
  • The attacker (A) attempts to score by engaging in a one-on-one duel.
  • The method of scoring (long shot, evasive move, running-in shot) does not matter.
  • The task of the defender (D) is to follow the attacker at a distance of 1.5 arm lengths.
  • When the attacker has the ball, the defender must close in.
  • The defender is not allowed to tap away or block the ball but must allow the shot.
  • The defender can place her hand just above the shoulder of the attacker to show presence.
  • After 1 minute, the players rotate roles.
Setup
  • 1 post
  • 1 ball
  • 4 cones in a square
  • 9 players: 4 attackers, 4 defenders, 1 feeder
Execution
  • The 4 attackers stand in a square at the cones around the korf.
  • The 4 defenders hold the post with one hand.
  • The feeder stands with the ball outside the square of cones.
  • The feeder passes the ball to an attacker.
  • The defender opposite the attacker who receives the ball must run around the cone.
  • The attackers try to score quickly by finding the free player.
In Brief
  • Shooting game where shots are taken from different sides of the korf.
Organisation
  • One pair per korf with a ball. If there are not enough korfs, two pairs with one ball each.
  • Four markers per korf: front, back, left, and right at approximately 6 meters distance.
  • One player starts under the korf, the other shoots from each marker.
  • Switch roles after each round.
  • Which pair completes the 'around the world' first?
Variations
  • Distances can be increased or decreased.
  • Make 2 goals at each marker.
  • Shoot on the move or take dodge shots.
  • With 2 pairs per korf, score 2 times together at each marker.
  • Complete the task within 2 minutes, otherwise a penalty round.
Execution
  • Shoot from different positions to get used to various angles and distances.
  • Ensure variation in shooting positions to avoid favouring any team.
  • Accurate shooting is crucial for success.
  • Players become more focused and improve quickly.
Setup
  • Three players at the korf: one passer with the ball under the korf and two attackers.
Execution
  • The attackers move from left to right in front of the korf.
  • The passer alternately passes to the attackers.
  • The minimum shooting distance is 5 meters.
  • The goals are counted.
  • The attacker who scores 3 goals first remains in front of the korf.
  • The losing attacker takes the place of the passer.

In Brief

  • A nice shooting exercise with a lot of running.

Organisation

  • The korfs are placed in a circle.
  • At each korf, there is a feeder with a ball.
  • The rest of the players stand in the middle of the circle.
  • Aim for 2 korfs per 5 players.

Execution

  • Part a: The players in the center circle take running-in shots at one of the korfs. Those who are not fast enough must wait. Each player retrieves their own running-in shot and then looks for a free korf again.
  • Part b: As in part a, but who scores 10 goals first?
  • Part c: As in part b, but who scores a goal at each korf first?
  • Part d: As in part b, but with overhead running-in shots.
  • Part e: As in part b, but with a passing situation. The runner plays the ball back to the feeder who has moved away from the post. Who scores 5 goals first?
  • Part f: As in part b, but the runner takes dodge shots. The feeder retrieves the shot and then tries to score themselves. Who scores 5 times first?
  • Part g: As in part f, but after the dodging movement, no shot follows. The ball goes back to the feeder who shoots with a quarter/half turn.

Variation

  • Add defenders. Which attacker scores 10 running-in shots or 5 goals from dodge shots first?
Execution
  • The passer throws the ball to the person in front of the korf.
  • The receiver takes a shot.
  • If the ball is caught under the korf, the player moves inside for a running-in ball.
  • Finally, the player takes a short chance.
Scoring
  • Shot counts for 2 points.
  • Running-in ball counts for 1 point.
  • Short chance counts for 1 point.
Game Options
  • Play until someone reaches 20 points first.
  • Or play for 1 minute and see which korf has the most points.
  • Goal to practice the free ball under pressure with the give-up position on the side.
  • 3 people per post.
  • Emphasis should be on passing to the side and not under the post.
  • Make your own estimation when you switch.
This exercise is best performed with 12 people.
Divide the group into 4 triplets.
The groups will play 3-on-3 with the defending side being given a specific task:
  • Group 1: Defending behind with pressure within the 6 meter zone on the ladies;
  • Group 2: Forward defending;
  • Group 3: Give 100% Pressure on the gents and the ladies are going to try to steal balls;
  • Group 4: Gives 1 gentleman and 1 lady 100% pressure. The remaining team members should support both.
  • 1 attacker and defender stand in 1/4 of the basket. The other 3 attackers and defenders do the same.
  • The attackers may only stand in 1 box by themselves with the defender. There may never be 2 attackers in 1 box at the same time.
  • This way they will play 4-0 and after each pass they have to switch squares by the one who threw.
  • After that you can always extend it to 3-1 if it is too difficult. For example, by setting up a catch or give-up.
drawing Boxes 4-0
Per 3 players at the basket:
  • With pawns, divide the attacking area around the basket into 4 "areas".
  • There are players in 3 of these 4 areas.
  • When player white passes the ball to player blue, player white moves to the free area.
  • Player blue plays through to player red and then also fills the free area.
  • Give a signal on which may be shot. The other 2 will fill in the rebound from the space. (In the D1 we do this by first setting up a support and then making an attack from the support. This may be from distance or through ball, Let the players think for themselves who best fills this position).
  • Then play out again and repeat.
