Korfball drills for technique passing / attack

  • 4 v 4 on badminton court with post in the middle
  • Same passing drill but now can go in other directions including long diagonal, must make contact prior to pass
  • If you have a shot - take it, other attackers to watch and if shot is on, get to collect, shooter also follows in
  • Reset after each shot, after 3 shots or five minutes which ever comes first, swap roles
  • 4 v 4 on badminton court with post in middle
  • Practice the passing exercise but now have choice of which way, still need to make contact first
  • If you have a shot, take it, if not pass to someone else, include long diagonal, emphasise contact first
  • If there is a shot going up and you are nearest, get to post to collect, shooter to follow shot in
  • After a shot, reset and go again, swap roles after three shots or five minutes which ever comes first
  • Timing of pass - do not go straight to the end, need to build this up one piece at a time, several moving parts to master individually
  • Make contact, step out, pass into space, receiver watches and moves to receive at last moment. Defenders remain static, but arms in motion. Reset and pass back the other way. After two minutes swap attackers and defenders, Are you getting better at timing reception of pass?
  • Repeat exercise but now defenders lose use of arms but can move bodies to make this more of a challenge, same reset and repeat and change after two minutes
  • Final variation, defenders now try to stop pass and stop reception, same reset and repeat and change after two minutes
Goal:
You must clear your fellow players after a long line.
The playing field is divided into 4 squares.
If you can pass to someone diagonally, you have done so after a long run.
  • Passer without a defender
  • Attacker without defender
  • Both with defender
  • Match: pass to player in adjacent box is 1 point, diagonal is 2 points.
drawing Passing after long running
  • Players stand in a large circle.
  • The ball must always be passed to the neighbor.
  • The direction of passing can be clockwise or counterclockwise.
  • More and more balls are added.
  • When the ball hits the ground, players must walk to the edge of the field and back again before being allowed to continue.
  • The ball must be thrown with the left hand to the left and with the right hand to the right.
  • If it is too easy, one-handed catching is possible if necessary.
drawing Warming up - passing
  • 1 player has the ball and the rest stand in a long line about 3 meters away.
  • The red player walks past the row of blue players.
  • The blue players make sure that the red player gets the ball thrown in the run.
  • The red player advances the ball one player at a time so that all players in the row have had their turn.
  • When the red player passes the ball to the last blue player, the last blue player shoots at the basket.
  • The red player must take care of the rebound.
  • When the red player's entire row has caught the ball, without bouncing it twice, the red player may take the first blue player's spot.
  • The whole row moves up one spot and the last blue player becomes the red player.
To make the running rebound more challenging, you can:
  • Have the red player tap a pawn first before he/she may go for the rebound.
  • Have the first or second blue player after the shot also go for the rebound.

Goal of exercise:
With 4 players bring the ball to the hoops.
Trainer throws the ball into the field.

  • Opponents make free running difficult, but have hands on back.
  • The opponent defending around the player with the ball may use hands. The others don't.
  • Opponents try to intercept the ball and try to score.
Regularly correct on free running, speed up, directional changes, long pass instead of short, find space if corner is stuck.
Also be careful not to play over the basket and keep the space in front of the ball empty.
drawing Practice on working out
  • One pole per 2 players.
  • Per pole a player in support and a worker standing 7 meters in front of the pole.
  • The player in front of the post gets a -force- exercise, immediately after that he takes a run-through.
  • If he scores, then calmly walk back to the center.
  • If he misses it is a sprint to the center.
  • X number of exercises and change.
drawing Walk-through ball boot camp
  • 3- /4-pairs at a basket.

  • Then move back to the right and take a through ball after hand change.
  • Which basket scores 10x first?
  • Then the same task change directions.
drawing shot from movement after passing in, then through ball
  • Make pairs at the hive.
  • Place two hats approximately 2.5 meters apart and 2.5 meters from the basket, as shown on the diagram.
  • Player 1 starts in the middle, Player 2 starts as passer/rebounder under the basket.
  • Player 1 makes a fierce running line to the one hat, receives the ball on the outside hand and passes back.
  • Player 1 makes a fierce run to the other hat and scores a short chance.
  • You do this for 1 minute, after this you switch.
