Korfballexercises for technique warming-up
Execution
- Divide the players into groups of 2 or 3 and position them on the left side of the field.
- Give each player a tennis ball.
- At the start signal, the first player from each group runs with a ball to the right side of the field.
- Upon reaching the other side, the player places the ball outside the line and runs back as quickly as possible.
- The next player in the group repeats the action with his or her ball.
- When all the balls are on the right side and the last player is back with the group, the relay is finished.
- The group whose last player returns first wins.
Execution
- Position the players in a line next to each other.
- Place a tennis ball on the ground approximately 1 metre in front of them.
- Have them stand with their feet slightly apart.
- Quick jogging - dribbling - on the spot.
- On the trainer's signal, while dribbling, they should:
- Hands on knees.
- Hands on toes.
- Hands on shoulders.
- Hands forward.
- Hands in the air.
- When the trainer shouts "Ball!", they should grab the ball as quickly as possible.
- Repeat and mix up the commands for variety.
Exercise 1: Throwing from Cone Position V to Position III
- Start from cone position V.
- Run to position III on side A.
- Begin at position II.
- Throw the ball with one arm and catch with an extended arm.
- Perform the exercise with overhead pass and intermediate pass.
- Replace the ball with another player.
- Player runs in and passes to player at position 2.
- Perform the exercise with the player at position 5.
- Player chooses position 2 or 5.
- Pass to the place where he is not standing.
Setup
- Position the posts in a triangular formation.
- At each korf, there is a person with a ball acting as a fixed passer.
- The remaining players stand in the middle near the two hoops.
- From the middle, take a run-through shot at one of the korfs.
- You may never go to the same post twice in a row.
- Always place a foot in one of the hoops to proceed to the next post.
- The goal is to score five times as quickly as possible.
- If successful, stand in one of the hoops. This hoop can no longer be used by others to move to the next korf.
- Then switch passers and start again.
- Halfway through the exercise, switch to evasion shots.
Explanation
- Divide the group into pairs. Each pair has a ball and a basket with four cones.
- Set up the field as shown in the diagram.
- Player 1 starts at the cone in front of the basket, player 2 is the passer.
- Player 1 begins with a lateral line and then accelerates sharply for the running-in shot.
- After the running-in shot, player 1 stays near the basket, moving for a short chance.
- Finally, player 1 makes a deep line for the distance shot.
- Afterwards, player 1 switches with player 2.
- Make it competitive by assigning points to the different goals.
- Running-in shot and short chance count for 1 point, the distance shot for 2 points.
- Three successful attempts in one turn gives 5 points.
- Failing to score results in a deduction of 1 point.
- Who scores 25 points first and which post has both players reaching 25 points first?
Setup
- X number of korfs.
- Let the players use a die to determine how many shots or opportunities they must score at each korf.
- They may dribble with the ball to the other korf.
- Different types of opportunities: with one hand, penalty shot, running-in shot while they are moving with the ball.
Objective
- Get three in a row.
- Two teams are formed.
- From each team, one player runs with a coloured hat to a hoop and places the hat inside.
- When the first player returns, the second player from the team starts, followed by the third player.
- If there is one hat of each colour, the fourth player may move a coloured hat to achieve three in a row.
Task
- Who is the first to complete a circle around the ball or the player?
- Everyone stands in a circle with enough space to quickly throw a ball.
- The ball starts to the right of the child who is going to run.
- The child who is going to run starts running simultaneously with the first throw of the ball on the outside of the circle.
Setup
- Divide the entire group into equal teams of 2, 3, or 4 players.
- Each team has one post as their "Home Base".
- Start with one ball in play.
- Teams attempt to score on each other's baskets.
- If a basket is scored upon, that team is eliminated.
- The game continues until only one basket remains.
- The team with the last remaining basket wins the game.
- Introduce additional balls into play to increase the pace as needed.
Setup
- Work in pairs or groups of three. In pairs, alternate turns; in groups of three, rotate positions.
- Place 6 cones around the korf, all at a distance of 6 meters.
- Which pair or group of three scores first 5 times with a running-in shot from each cone?
- Next, which pair or group of three scores first 2 or 3 times from each distance?
- Then, move the cones to a distance of 2 meters and let each player score 2 goals from each side.
Moving Freely and Maintaining Ball Possession
- Set up four cones in a square of 7x7 meters. Have three players work together within this square. One player is the interceptor who tries to intercept the ball. Play a game lasting 30 seconds; intercepting earns a point.
- Players must move freely by moving towards the ball or away from it, depending on their position relative to the interceptor, the distance to the ball, and the available space. Pause the game to demonstrate where they should move.
- The ball holder must learn not to make risky passes; it is better to make no pass than a wrong pass.
- Sometimes use a lob pass or a direct pass; a feint pass can also be useful.
- Slowing down, speeding up, and changing directions are important to move freely.
Execution
- 10 shots from the width line
- 15 running-in balls
- 15 away-withdrawal balls
