Soccer drills for technique defense

  • The attacker with the ball starts dribbling from the back line near the small goal towards the pupil's goal. The defender without the ball can try to overtake the player and take the ball.
  • Both players can score, the attackers on the pupil goal, the defenders on the small goal.
  • When the ball is out, by switching attacker and defender.
  • When the attacker has shot at the pupil's goal, he dribbles back to the start via the ditch.


Size: depending on age and ability.
Length: 15-25 metres.
Width: 10-15 metres

  • All players start with a ball, except the defender. The defender tries to take or knock balls away from the other players.
  • The defender counts how many balls he has taken or tapped away. After a certain time, the defender will be changed.

Score goals.

- Staying active.

Defence:
Preventing goals and conquering the ball.
- Take away the ball.

  • Half of the players start with a ball, the other players try to conquer the balls.
  • The players who lose a ball, try to conquer another one.

Defence:
Preventing goals and conquering the ball.
- Take away the ball.

  • Ordinary rules of the game (match alike)
  • Check that what has been learnt is understood and applied in a game 
  • Scoring in the small goal must be done with the foot. = 1 point
  • Scoring in the big goal with the head = 2 points
  • Has the objective been achieved?
  • To see the relationship between the solutions/possibilities offered in the previous exercise forms and the party form (competition)

  • The defenders (formation 1-2-2) try to prevent the attackers from scoring, by making the space as small as possible and conquering or blocking the ball at all costs. 
  • The defenders help each other by keeping the distance between them as small as possible.
  • The attackers (formation 4-2) try to make the field as large as possible in order to score a goal
  • After conquering the ball, the defenders can try to score in a small goal
  • The attackers can score in a big goal with a goalkeeper
  • When the ball goes out of the field, it is kicked back in where it went out. 



6-against-4-play-off
  • In this exercise, an attacker is played by a midfielder while he has a defender behind him. 
  • The attacker must hold the ball for 5 seconds so that the midfielder can close in and receive the ball. 
  • The defender must try to take the ball.

2 teams

  • The players have to play football 4 against 2 and must have replayed at least 3 times in the attack and a maximum of 10 times before scoring.
  • When a ball is taken off/ touched/ crosses the line or a score is scored, there must be a switch between attacking and defending.  
  • When there is no overplay, no scoring is allowed.

  • Playing in

Duration: +-10 min

  • Execution: 
    • 1 ball per pair
    • Ball in the middle
    • Both players one step behind
    • Players move forward at the same time so that the foot comes next to the ball
    • With the other foot they kick the inside as hard as possible against the ball 
  • Number
    • 10 times 5x right
    •  5x left 
    • Then change partners
  • Coaching moment:   
    • Don't hold back dare to kick
    • Kick against the heart of the ball 
  • Walk over the field in 2 numbers. 
  • Both players hold one end of a rope (1.5 meters).
  • Once the attacker determines the pace and direction. 
  • As soon as the rope is released when it comes to tension, the attacker has a point. 
  • Defender may only hold the rope loosely.
  • Divide the amount of players among equal teams. 
  • For example 3 teams of 3 or 4 teams of 3. 
  • Give each team its own coloured jacket. 
  • These teams compete against each other in 1 field. 
  • The first team to score is one round ahead.
