Volleyball drills

  • Divide the group into pairs.
  • Have one person of the pair start at the net, while the others take place on the back line.
  • The persons on the backline make sure they have a ball and possibly a spare ball.
  • The persons at the net are going to make a block jump, after which they immediately turn around to defend a ball from the person on the back line. This ball can be tapped, hit or played into the court.

It is therefore important to turn around immediately after the block and to look at the situation. They should also be careful not to step in too quickly, in connection with a possible passed ball.

Let the people at the net defend 10 balls, after which they are exchanged.

  • 2 rows of players
    • 1 row on the left back
    • 1 row at the right back
  • create with 4 pawns a virtual line where they have to stand behind
  • trainer stands at the other side of the net and throws the ball somewhere in the field.
  • 1 of the 2 front rows calls LOS orI (agree on that)
  • this player passes the ball (in/to) the basket that is between position 2 and 3.
  • Ball in the basket is 2 points for the team, against the basket is 1 point.
  • Set a target for the team, for example 25 points.

It is possible to add a distributor and an attacker, provided the assignment runs well.

  • A serves to B.
  • B passes the ball to the playmaker, who then plays a high ball into the backfield.
  • B defends this ball back to the playmaker, who then gives a setup for A.
  • A attacks on this setup.

After the attack, A takes B's place and B becomes a reserve. The playmaker stays.

The outfield attackers use the left half of the court with one playmaker. The middle attackers and diagonal attackers use the right half with another playmaker.

Extension:

  • After the service, A takes a second ball.
  • After B's attack A throws this ball into the field.
  • B plays this ball to the playmaker, the playmaker gives a setup.
  • B attacks again.

passing-defending-and-attacking-2

  • Players divide on both back lines as two teams.
  • All have a ball.
  • Players one half take turns serving all.
  • On wrong service, all run to the net and make block jump.
  • Other team does the same.
  • Done when both teams have a mistake-free service series.

Variations:

  • serve with restrictions (one half or length (for 7m line))
  • only overhand
  • Attention:
    • Good service also under pressure
    • concentration
  • Attacking from outside on two pitches.
  • Players pay attention to their run-up and both arms.
  • After that attack the middle of two fields.
  • Then 3 players in field B defend and 3 players in field A attack.
  • Coach throws ball to trio in field A.
  • Pass, set up, attack.
  • If trio in field B defends or hits the ball well, we switch.
  • Players in field A go to field B and new trio goes on reserve attack.
  • Otherwise the defense stays.
