Execution
  • Three players stand at the net with a ball.
  • They alternate playing the ball short and long.

Objective

  • The aim is to tactically place or hit the ball.

Execution

  • Use tip balls at the middle position or hit the ball deep to position 1.
  • Place hoops to simulate a constant block, which can later be replaced by an actual block.
  • Replace cones at position 1 with a box over which the ball must fall, over the 'defender'.
  • The coach hits or plays a ball in, which is first passed to the setter.
  • The setter provides a set-up to the outside.
  • The attacker chooses either a short tip ball to the middle position (where a hoop is placed) or aims for position 1 with a hit or quick overhead ball.
Execution
  • The trainer throws the ball to the setter.
  • The setter delivers a set-up to the attacker.
  • The attacker must hit the ball.
  • The block must be well set by the outside blocker and middle blocker.
  • The defence catches the ball.
  • After 10 times, the players rotate positions.
Setup
  • Line up attackers and blockers at the 3-meter line.
Execution
  • The coach plays a rally ball to attacker 1.
  • Blocker 4 moves to the net.
  • Attacker 1 passes to the setter and calls where he wants the set-up (left, middle, or right).
  • The blocker follows the attacker and attempts to block.
  • The attacker retrieves the ball and joins the back of his own line.
Switch
  • If the attackers score 10 times, attackers and blockers switch roles.
Execution
  • Set up two gymnastics boxes, starting as low as possible (one layer).
  • Place the boxes at a distance equivalent to an attack approach apart.
  • Optionally, place marker mats for the approach.
  • Jump with both feet onto the first box and land with both hands raised off the box.
  • Perform an attack approach to the second box: short, long, connect, take off (rhythm: 1...2.3).
  • Note: take off with both feet and swing the arms backward during the large step.
  • End on the box with both hands in the air (optionally clap hands).
  • Then perform two block jumps at the net. Pay attention to lateral steps and move around the cone.
  • The trainer throws a dive ball: slide on the stomach, retrieve the ball, and place it in the bin.
  • Join the end of the line for the next jump.
Execution
  • Warm-up hitting on the outside and middle positions.
  • Except for the setter, the other players consecutively perform a pass, an attack, and a serve.
Steps
  • Player 1 throws a firm ball to player 7.
  • Player 7 passes the ball to the setter.
  • Player 1 moves to the other line and joins at the back.
  • The setter delivers a set to player 6.
  • Player 6 spikes the ball straight onto the mat.
  • Player 6 retrieves their hit ball.
  • Player 6 serves the ball to the other mat.
  • Player 6 retrieves their ball.
  • Player 6 joins the line.
Variations
  • This can also be done with a middle attack.
  • After 10 minutes, a block is added.
Execution
  • Attacker C performs a diagonal attack on positions 3 and 4.
  • Players in positions 1 and 2 block the attack.
  • Players in positions 3 and 4 defend while the setter gets into position.
  • The setter delivers a set-up to player 1, 2, or 3 for an attack on the three defenders.
  • The defenders defend individually and place the ball in the basket.
Execution
  • Player A throws or hits the ball towards Player C.
  • Player C passes the ball to Player B.
  • Player B provides a set-up.
  • Player C attacks.
Objective
  • Try to attack or play the third ball onto the mats, either straight or diagonally.
  • After each ball, the players rotate one position within their own group.
Extension
  • If there are enough players, a block can also be placed.
Execution
  • A serves to B.
  • B passes the ball to the setter.
  • The setter plays a high ball into the backcourt.
  • B defends this ball back to the setter.
  • The setter provides a setup for A.
  • A attacks on this setup.
  • After the attack, A takes B's position and B becomes a substitute.
  • The setter remains in position.
Team Composition
  • The outside hitters use the left half of the court with one setter.
  • The middle hitters and opposite hitters use the right half with another setter.
Extension
  • After the service, A picks up a second ball.
  • After B's attack, A throws this ball into the court.
  • B plays this ball to the setter.
  • The setter provides a setup.
  • B attacks once more.
Execution
  • Player A throws the ball over the net.
  • Player B or C passes the ball back over the net.
  • The other player quickly runs under the net and sets the ball for the same player who passed it.
  • This player tries to knock a cone off the bench using an overhead play or a hitting motion.

  • Which pair or team has knocked the most cones off the bench after a certain number of minutes?
