Volleyballexercises for u14

  • Form two rows at the back line.
  • 1 ball per 2 players.
  • Players alternate playing to each other!
  • The last one tries to score the ball in the basket.
  • You may want to make this more difficult by placing basket past the net so they have to go under this.
Exercises:
  • All keys.
  • Everything underhand.
  • Alternate between keys/underhands.
  • Free choice; the last player scores by hitting the basket with an overhand shot.

  • 1 player stands at the net as a setter.
  • Player from row A keys to setter.
  • Setter plays ball BH into basket.
  1. spring in elbows.

  • Player at basket catches off and stands in row A.

  • Player retrieves ball and joins other group.

  • Divide players into 2 teams over both halves of the field. 1 player waits at the pawn.
  • Trainer throws the ball in. Teams play the ball over the net to each other.
  • Each player who has played the ball taps the pawn, waits and then takes the place of the one currently leaving the field.
  • After playing over the net each time, pass on.
Extension: throw in the same way as you caught the ball.

Organization:
  • Make duos with ball, on either side of the net.
  • Distance from the net approximately 4 meters.
  • At trio: extra player with ball at the net. At the moment of throwing, the player at the net throws the ball to the "server" and receives from the "passer" a caught ball.
Execution:
  1. Player with ball throws the ball with 1 hand towards 2nd player.
  2. Possibly move and catch with outstretched arms in front of the body.
  3. Then definitely move it sideways, forwards and backwards.
  4. Possibly pass the ball up in front of himself or to the player at the net.
With threesomes or twosomes with trainer.

  1. Player 1 plays ball BH over the net. 2 other players on opposite side: 1 in back defending and 1 set-up. Defender plays over the net to player 1.
    • Note: setup along the net. Turn in!
  2. Variation 1: 2-team starts in the back and runs forward. The player who does not pass gives set-up.
    Variation 2: 2-team starts in the middle and runs to the back. The player who does not pass gives set-up.
    • Try to play through.
  • Player with ball carrier plays 1 ball per duo over net.
  • Duo tries to defend and make point.

  1. Throwing ball. Pay attention to posture, do it slowly but do it well. 3 minutes.
  2. Hit ball under the net, throw up with spin.
  3. Hit ball above net aimed, soft to person, hip open. The other person catches the ball.
  4. Ball is thrown from other side, then you hit it.
  5. Player A throws up with spin, and hits to player B, B does OH to player A, player A passes to player B who hits to player C and so on. Just out of position, without jumping.
  6. Now at the net.
  7. Player A throws ball up with spin, and hits ball to player B, B does OH to player A, B goes to pos IV, player A passes to pos IV player B who hits to player C and so on. Attack at position 4.
Groups of 4 players.
  • Exercise 1.
    • Player A at pos IV, does 4 pass run-up to net, then comes backwards.
    • Player B throws easy ball to player A, who plays OH back to player B.
    • Player B does setup and player A does 4 pass run-up and catches the ball overhead with arms extended.

  • Exercise 2.
    • Player A and D in position IV, does 4 pass run-up to net and then comes backwards.
    • Player C throws ball into the backfield, player A tries to play it back.
    • Player B throws easy ball to player A, who plays OH back to player B.
    • Player B does setup and player A does 4 pass run-up and catches the ball overhead with outstretched arms.

  • Passing through Player A becomes C => B => D => A

  • Exercise 3
    • Same as exercise 2 but player C does attack to player A.

  • Exercise 4
    • Player A and D in position IV, player A does 4 passes approaching the net and then comes backwards.
    • Player B passer, starts from position I.
    • Player C other side of field, player D also has a ball.
    • Player A executes dry attack.
    • Player C throws easy high ball over to player A.
    • Player A plays OH to Passeur, (if ball cannot be set, then player D throws high ball to player B), D retrieves ball.
    • Player B, plays OH back to player A, who plays ball back to player B
    • Player B, passes to player A, who runs and attacks to position 1 where player C is standing. Player C defends ball for himself and catches off.

  • A and D always switch places
  • C and B exchange remain standing
  • After 10 x C and B swap with A and D. Then again and again so that everyone has given pass.
