Handballexercises for u15

Last update: january 2026
  • 1 attacker throws on goal
  • 2nd attacker goes out already
  • Goalkeeper grabs the ball as quickly as possible
  • Defender closest to the substitution area steps out
  • Attacker steps in
  • Goalkeeper passes to attacker on line / or stepping in attacker at center
  • On the opposite side, defenders come in as quickly as possible
  • Pass the game back and forth
How do you defend this?

  • Runner! Can intercept - can get to ball, not just receiver
  • Runner starts in during completion
  • Set down hurdles or double low hats in a left-right pattern.
  • With 2 legs over the hurdle, wide step sideways and again with 2 legs over the hurdle.
  • Mats at the 9 meter on build-up positions: stand next to the mat - with 1 leg a wide jump over the mat and then complete with 2 or 3 passes, depending on the side you choose
  • Practice the above without mat, with opponent as dummy :-)
  • 1 versus 1 in a narrow space: demarcate with markers - first walk forwards and backwards, so pass each other twice, then start the attack. Practice passing and feinting.
  • Try to get a quartet with your team by getting 3 or 4 of the same objects (e.g. 4 cubes) in your box.
  • Prevent another team from stealing objects from you by tapping them.
  • Rules:
    • In your own box you are free and cannot be tapped.
    • If you are in another square you can be tapped.
    • If you are tapped you walk around the outside back to your own square.
    • If you are in an opponent's square without being tapped, you are free to return to your own square with the stolen object.
    • You may only take one object at a time.
    • A team has won if it has 4 same objects in its own box.
  • Variations/adaptations:
    • You can be tapped on the way back.
    • Add extra quartets.
drawing Second line change
  • This describes a system where the builders run a switch.
  • The circle runner decides on which side the substitution will be made.
  • If the circle runner is on the right side of the middle defender, the substitution is also made on the right.
  • The middle constructor has the ball and gives a pass to the right constructor.
  • The middle constructor, after playing the ball to the right constructor, puts a bar on the defending second constructor.
  • The right hand builder goes behind the middle builder and ends up in the middle.
  • The left-hand builder goes behind the right-hand builder again.
drawing First line change
  • This exchange takes place between circle runner.
  • And the corner players.
  • The circle runner moves without the ball from the middle to the side and puts a barrier on the defending corner player.
  • The attacking corner player has the ball at that moment and can make use of the obstruction.
  • Or pass the ball to the set-up player
  • Who then passes the ball on to the half-career player and so on
  • The attacking corner player who passed the ball on to the attacker "runs with the ball" inside the 9m, slowing down a little.
  • He or she then comes between defender 2 and 3 towards the goal again and may receive the ball from the up-and-comer who has already received it at that point.

Everyone a ball and bounce through 6 meter area. Doing different exercises:

  • Bounce the ball through your legs every now and then
  • Bounce the ball behind your back
  • Try to catch the ball from someone else.
  • Bounce on the spot, sit while bouncing, then lie down and then stand up again.
  • Bounce with the wrong hand

Variant with the whistle:

  • 1 whistle means bouncing with the wrong hand,
  • To whistle twice is to pass the ball to someone you see,
  • 3 whistles means bouncing the ball quickly to the touchline and back again.
  • 1 defender (V1) with attacker (A1) on the circle
  • 1 defender (V2) in front who has to catch the attacking structure (A2)
  • Attacking set-up A2 receives ball from the corner (A3) and runs towards V2;
  • A1 steps out and stands left of V2 and blocks, A2 passes V2 on the right who is blocked by A1;
  • Circle defender V1 has to choose, either follow A1 or pass to A2;
  • A2 has to choose, if V1 comes, pass to A1, who then turns away from block position and stands free on the circle;
  • or A2 shoots himself if V1 chooses to continue defending A1.
  • Ball starts at RH.
  • RH puts pressure between 2 defenders and passes to RO.
  • RO presses between 2 defenders and passes to MO.
  • MO pressures between 2 defenders.
  • CS puts barrier on offensive defender of LO.
  • LO gets round the bar and finishes.
  • Attention! The pressure is very important in this exercise so that
the MA will not be back in time to cover the ball.pressurizing-with-cs
  • LH starts to pressure the outside of the corner defender
  • LO puts pressure between the corner defender and defensive right wing
  • MO pressurises between the defending right build-up and the centre back
  • RO pressurises between mid-back and defensive left
  • RH puts pressure between defensive left build-up and corner defender
  • RH sidesteps the corner defender and throws on goal
  • Passing

Different parts in groups of 4
. Each part is done for 3 minutes, after 1,5 minute a rest of 20 sec.

  • Bench - push yourself forward on your belly
  • Ladder - Self-selected ladder exercises, at tempo!
  • Skipping rope - Jumping rope, alternating between 2 legs and 1 leg.
  • Mat - Use as a surface for sit-ups.

  • Pawns - slide into a triangle. Forward, back, sideways, forward etc.
  • Large mat - Opposite each other to push the mat away.

Attacker plays ball to defender. Pull the ball together (short).

  • After that, the attacker must have been behind the line with his butt on the ground
    • He can more or less drop backwards when the defender releases the ball.
  • At the same time, the defender goes back to the circle and comes forward again.
  • Then attacker and defender go 1:1.
