Handballexercises for u9
Objective
- The aim is to place three in a row.
Execution
- The group is divided into two teams.
- One player from each team runs with a coloured cone and places it in a hoop.
- As soon as the first player returns, the second player from the team starts, followed by the third.
- If there is one cone of each colour, the fourth player may move a coloured cone to achieve three in a row.
Teams and Setup
- Divide the group into two teams.
- Teams stand next to each other with approximately five metres between the players.
- Players of each team stand in a line, one behind the other.
- The course is a square. Team 1 starts in the far left corner, team 2 in the far right corner.
- The teams are positioned horizontally on the same line.
- At the whistle signal, the first players of each team start running along the lines of the square.
- When they meet, they play rock-paper-scissors for the right of way. Paper beats rock, rock beats scissors, scissors beat paper.
- In case of a tie, start again.
- The winner continues running, the loser returns.
- The objective is to reach the other team as quickly as possible.
- If a player loses, the next player from the losing team starts.
Execution
- Everyone has a ball and moves while bouncing it through the 6-metre area. Vary with different techniques:
- Bounce the ball occasionally through the legs.
- Bounce the ball behind the back.
- Try to tap the ball away from someone else.
- Bounce on the spot, sit down while bouncing, then lie down and subsequently stand up again.
Objective
- Improve passing and catching technique.
Execution
- Throwing back and forth, pay attention to the correct posture: elbow at shoulder height, left leg forward.
- Throwing with a running movement: left-right-left.
- Throwing with the left hand.
- Throwing behind the back.
- Aim at the right (catching) hand, but catch with both hands.
- Throwing via the ground.
- Catching: posture with a "W" or cup shape.
- From the E-youth: throwing with a jump shot.
- Underhand passing.
- Sideways passing.
- Passing with an attacking movement: a few steps towards the goal, pass and then move backwards.
Formation
- Five players stand on the 6-metre line and hold each other's hands.
- One attacker tries to dribble past the defenders and finish.
- The defenders must work together and move in unison to stop the attacker.
- There are two stations where the attacker changes each time.
Execution
- All players stand in a line approximately one arm's length apart from each other, with their legs wide.
- The first player rolls the ball between the legs of the other players to the last player.
- The last player dribbles with the ball through all the players to the front.
- Then this player rolls the ball back to the end.
Execution
- All players stand in a row at approximately one arm's length apart with their legs wide.
- The first player rolls the ball between the legs of the others to the last player.
- Then everyone lies flat, and the last player jumps over everyone with the ball.
- When the player reaches the front, all players stand up again with legs wide, and the player rolls the ball to the back.
- This exercise can also be performed as a competition with two teams. Who can get all players to the front the fastest?
Setup
- Four benches form a square against each other.
- One to two players stand inside the cage (four benches) with ten balls.
- Four to six players stand outside the cage with ten balls.
- The players inside the cage try to throw all the balls out of the cage. They may only throw the ball once they step outside the cage.
- The players outside the cage try to get all the balls into the container by running or dribbling and placing the ball in the cage, not throwing it.
- The player with the fewest balls after one minute wins.
Execution
- 2 to 3 players in the left backcourt (can also be another position) practice shots.
- The remaining players collect balls, and one player continuously passes the balls.
- Shooting from the left backcourt one after another.
- The player who scores 10 times first, wins.
- After a shot, the player must run backwards to their position.
- Different approaches (for example, slightly inward or outward).
- Different shots (underarm throw, wrist throw, on the move, and so on).
- Use more than one position.
Execution
- Players stand in a line with a 1-meter distance from each other.
- The player who is last in the line slaloms between the others to the front.
- The player sprints until he or she is at the front.
- Then the next player who is at the back repeats the action.
Description
- This game can be played as a final game, during training, or as a warm-up. It is appealing because it can be easily differentiated and changed.
Execution
- Two teams are formed in an area of approximately 10 by 10 metres. One team starts with the ball and tries to pass it 10 times to a teammate.
- The other team tries to intercept the ball and then also pass it 10 times.
Variations
- Make the field larger or smaller.
- Use a different way of passing, such as mandatory bouncing or through the air.
Execution
- Advance the ball with a team of three players: left backcourt, centre backcourt, and right backcourt.
- The objective is to score on the goal at the opposite end of the court.
- Perform the exercise without bouncing the ball.
- Add substitutions and systems during the game.
- Include one or more defenders for extra challenge.
