Basketballexercises for technique dribbling

Execution
  • Player 1 has two balls and dribbles both balls towards the cone.
  • Player 2 cuts from the corner to the wing.
  • Player 1 makes a one-handed push pass to Player 2 on the wing.
  • With the other ball, Player 1 performs a crossover and shoots the ball.
  • Player 2 takes a jump shot.
Setup
  • Stand with the whole group in a circle in the middle of the court.
  • Ensure each player has one ball.
Dribbling Variations
  • Dribble normally (waist height).
  • Dribble low (below knee height).
  • Dribble extremely low (bounce no higher than ankle height).
  • Dribble low (below knee height).
  • Dribble normally (waist height).
  • Dribble extremely high (above shoulder height).
  • Dribble normally (waist height).
Execution
  • Have the players sit while dribbling.
  • Have the players stand up while dribbling.
  • Have the players sit down again while dribbling.
  • Players now dribble between their legs.
  • Have them stand and make figure eights between their legs.
  • Then rotate the ball around the waist as quickly as possible, then in the other direction.
  • Note: Each part can be performed with both hands.
  • The coach acts as an example.

Execution
  • Divide the players into 2 teams, each at their own basket.
  • Dribble around the pole and choose a side.
  • Perform a lay-up.
  • The team that reaches the proposed number of scores first wins.
  • The losing team must run to the baseline and back once.

Execution
  • The players gather on the right or left side of the midline.
  • The first two players have a ball.
  • There are two catchers under the basket.
  • From the midline, the player dribbles towards the basket and performs a lay-up.
  • The catcher catches the ball and passes it to the next player in line.
  • Repeat this until 15 successful lay-ups are made, then switch sides.
Game Setup
  • Make two teams of five players each.
  • Play a game and apply the exercises that were done today.
  • Make substitutions every 30 seconds if necessary.
Execution:
  • Play freely on one or two baskets, depending on the number of players.
  • No dribbling allowed, only passing.
Execution
  • Start with three players on the baseline, with the middle player holding a ball.
  • The middle player passes the ball to one of the other players and runs after the ball.
  • The receiver passes the ball to the player on the other side and also follows the ball.
  • This pattern is repeated as the players move towards the basket on the other side of the court.
  • When a player is close enough to the basket, they make a lay-up.
  • The lay-up shooter becomes a defender, while the other two players become attackers.
  • The attackers try to reach each other with a long pass and score.
  • The defender tries to prevent the attackers from scoring.
  • If the attackers do not score, they must do five push-ups.
  • Up to 8 players in the center circle or freethrow circle.
  • On starting the game, each player has to protect the ball whilst attempting to knock the ball away from other players.
  • Last man standing wins!

  • 1st round: 
    • Start at sideline on knees, 
    • jump up, 
    • through legs 2x, 
    • run to the other side.
  • 2nd round: 
    • through legs, behind the back, through legs
  • 3rd round:
    • through legs, spin, through legs,
  • 4th round:
    • though legs, behind back, through legs, spin, through legs,
  • 5th round: 
    • through legs till other side 
  • Installation: 
    • For 2 players 1 ball
    • 1 player baseline
    • 1 player at free throw line with ball
  • Player baseline runs to other player and receives pass.
  • Land, crossover step, 3 dribbles, jump stop, pivot.
  • Pass to next player.
  • Across the length of the court.
  • Variations: 
    • Catch, spin, reverse pivot - heel lift when pivoting-
    • Front stop, half pivot, pivot forward
    • Jump and turn in the air, turn and face

Players in two lines in the middle of the court:

  • Player 1 runs without the ball to the top of the key
  • Receives a pass from player 2 in the other line
  • Performs a first step (sidestep, cross over step, spin, etc.)
  • Drives to the basket
Player 2 does the same on the other side of the court.
