Basketball drills for technique passing

Option 1
  • Blue runs to the middle and receives the pass from orange
  • Orange then fills in blue
  • White and Red come up at the same time that orange passes to blue
  • White receives the pass from blue at the free throw line and faces the basket
  • Red accelerates somewhere near the free throw line and heads for the basket
  • White passes to red and red makes a layup
Option 2
  • After orange passes to blue, orange also cuts across the right side and there is a second playoff opportunity for white.
Option 3
  • Orange and blue continue to cut in and white takes a shot
  • Orange and blue fight for the rebound and a score
* After building this exercise up to Option 3, players must be sharp, there can always be a pass or fight for the rebound.
* There is no dribbling
* Rotation is counterclockwise

drawing 4 Corners drill without a dribble
  • 3 rows behind the baseline.
  • Center player blue passes to the left or right.
  • He runs behind his pass, around the one who received the pass.
  • The player who received the pass- red- passes it to the opposite side -white-.
  • Also runs after the pass to receive the ball again from blue.
  • On the other side of the field a layup is made and they make the weave back to the other side of the field.

  • Setup:
    • 1 player under goal
    • All other players around the goal
  • Player under goal passes 1 by 1 to the players around the goal.
  • At the end finish with a power jump-stop.
  • Possibly split the group into two.

  • Setup:
    • Whole field
    • 3 groups baseline one side
    • 3 groups baseline other side
    • Middle player has ball
    • Second man outside group also have ball
  • Middle player dribbles across
  • After center line pass to right, that player does a drive
  • Other players fill in
  • 3 cuts in total, then shot
  • 1 player still has the ball and shot
  • 2 other players get the ball from below

  • Setup:
    • 4 groups
    • 2 baseline
    • 2 centerline
    • Balls to the midline
  • Midline player dribbles past pylon and passes to corner
  • Shot in the corner
  • Left and right start alternately
  • Dribbling past on the left is passing with the left hand
  • Right hand dribble past is passing with right hand
  • Players waiting at the center line may already dribble as if they are bringing up the ball
  • Careful with passing
  • Variations:
    • Shot from 1 dribble
    • Curl pass to the weak side corner
    • Curl pass to the weak side corner and cut through

Setup:
  • 1 group baseline corner
  • 1 group left wing
  • 1 group right wing
  • Ball right wing
Exercise:
  • Player comes in and passes coach.
  • Chooses baseline or middle.
  • Based on this, the other 2 groups rotate.
  • Always do an extra pass!
  • Finish of choice.

Setup:
  • 1 group baseline
  • 1 group left wing
  • 1 group right wing
  • Ball baseline
  • Ball left wing -first player has no ball.
Exercise:
  • Player baseline passes to wing and does close out and dribbles past.
  • Player wing dribbles past it with 2 dribbles towards middle and passes to other winger who rotates more.
  • Player who rotates and receives ball does a three point shot.
  • Player who cuts and passes comes back up and plays 1 v 0.
    • Receives pass from player who will rotate later.
    • Therefore, first player here has no ball.
  • Own rebound
  • Variant:
    • Player who rotates and catches ball does a layup.
    • Player who cut does a drive and then a step-back sweater.
