Hockey drills for technique passing

  • A starts with the ball and plays the ball to B.
  • B takes the ball and plays the ball to C.
  • C takes the ball and makes an action near the pawns and rounds on goal.

  • A starts with the ball and passes it into the run at B.
  • B takes the ball and floats onto the pawns at speed.
  • B plays the ball to the offering C.
  • C takes the ball and plays a 1 :1 against the defender.

  • A starts with the ball and push the ball straight ahead.
  • B runs in a bit and takes the ball with the backhand -sitting low-.
  • B takes the ball with the forehand and goes around the pawn.
  • B push the ball straight forward to C who takes the ball with the backhand -staying high.
  • C takes the ball it with the forehand and hits the ball on goal.

  • A starts with the ball and floats the ball a bit forward and hits the ball to B.
  • B accepts the ball and floats a bit forward and hits the ball to C.
  • C takes the ball on and floats a bit forward and hits the ball to D.
  • D takes the ball on it floats towards the circle and hits the ball on goal.

Passing through the bar

Organization:
  • Divide the group into 4 groups
  • Each group works on 1 side of the field
  • Put 2/ 3 players at the back line -blue triangle- 2 meters from the bar
  • Put 2/ 3 players at the middle line -red three corners- 2 meters from the bar
  • The balls are with the players on the center line
Execution:
  • The player with the ball plays to the player on the back line, through the bar
  • The player on the back line takes up and plays the ball back to the player on the middle line, via the bar
  • The player on the center line picks up, drives the ball to the circle and scores
  • The blue player moves to the red player's spot and the red player moves to the blue player's spot
  • The red player first takes the ball out of the goal and brings it back where the other balls are
Points of attention:
  • Playing hard on the bar
  • Make sure you have a good sharp angle so the ball arrives at the other player as well

  1. A plays the ball to B.
  2. B runs in and takes the ball strongly.
  3. B plays the ball back to A.
  4. C runs up and gets a cross ball from A.
  5. B has run around the pawn and passes to the post.
  6. C passes a ball on the tip.
  7. B tips the ball into the goal.

  4. B passes to A and the latter takes to the run.
  5. Brings into the circle and rounds.
Points of attention:
  • Fast, hard and clean passing.
  • Takeover in the run.
  • Keep speed.
Possibly extend with a defender in the circle.

  • On pace passes in a 3 corner.
  • The 4th player runs after the ball and if they conquer it, swap with a player at a pilon.

Attention:
  • Short tight passes.
  • 2 touches: assumption, pass.
  • Last player makes passing move and completes.
  • Passing behind ball, getting off at fault.

With 3 players run up, pass and finish.

  • Blue passes to red, runs after ball and connects behind red.
  • Red passes to white, runs after ball and connects behind white.
  • White passes to blue, runs behind ball and connects behind blue.
  • And so on.
  • The one with the ball on the edge of the circle rounds off.

A one-two in depth with quick passes and finishing at high pace:

  • Player A plays towards player B.
  • A runs deep towards the first pawn -running line-.
  • B passes back to A and runs deep towards the circle -short quick action-.
  • A passes back to B.
  • B takes on the forehand and spins away over the opponent's backhand -pawn-.
  • C sprints in towards head of circle -timing-.
  • B passes towards C possibly with the backhand sweep pass.
  • C takes on, brings the ball into the circle and rounds. 2 actions, ball under control and round off.
