Korfball drills for technique defense
You will play matches with even numbers, but instead of earning points by scoring, you can also earn points by catching the ball.
- Goal is worth 1 point
- Catching the ball after a shot(rebounding) 2 points
- A goal may only be scored by means of a deep line (run through from deep) or by what was trained in the previous drill.
- There are 3 posts placed in a triangle, pointing to the centre of the triangle.
- The defenders try to prevent the attacker from scoring.
- Do this until the attacker has scored twice or 1 minute has passed and then turn around.
Objective:
- To teach the children to follow their direct opponent at all times,
- The defender always remains between the post and the girl.
Organisation:
- The children stand in pairs near a basket.
- One of the two is defender, the other attacker.
- The attacker makes movements around the basket (towards, away from, left, right, etc.).
- The defender constantly makes sure she stays in the right place between the basket and the girl.
- After a few minutes, switch. Changing pairs.
- One rebounder, one defender and one attacker.
- 30 sec attacks...if attacker can score, he becomes rebounder at the next post.
- If not, he becomes the defender.
- Rebounder becomes attacker all the time...
- In a square there are 3 defending players and 1 attacking player.
- The attacker tries to get a pylon, the defenders try to prevent that by working together.
- So the defenders will have to move a lot between the pylons to beat the attacker.
- Everyone is 3x attacker.
- Always after 1 round with the four of you evaluate how best to get the attacker out of position.
Points of attention:
- There is not 1 good strategy.
- Which agreements do you make?
- How smart is the attacker?
- Do you dare to let go?
- All line up with your back to the middle.
- In defensive stance to the opposite side.
- Back and forth 2x.
- Then another time and alternate with other leg in front.
Variation:
- In pairs.
- One player is the runner and the other is the defender.
- Slow pace where runner runs forward and defender runs backward in defensive stance.
- Pick up pace.
- With feints.
Have the players play a game with defenders.
- Mention in advance that they should play around and then set up a support and rebound.
- Also mention that the support stays until a follow-through or shot comes. Because if the ball is spent for a shot and the defender gets to it in time then the ball can be played back on the support.
- The support remains until the defender gets in front of the support to avoid the returning pass
- Thus, the defenders must learn that after a spent pass is returned immediately in front of the support.
- Children learning to walk lines
- Attacker and defender ready for the post. Offender under the post with ball.
- Defender moves up post.
- Play 1 x 1 until attacker has scored 1 time. Defender always tries to be there.
- The post of the defender who got the goal against gets penalty.
- Defender goes back to own post.
- Passing
- Player blue must get the ball to one of the 4 pawns.
- Player red must pre-defend.
- Player red must close ball line.
- Half of the group is attacker, blue, and the other half is defender, red.
- The attackers stand on the sideline and the defenders stand about 1 meter in front of them.
- The attackers run forward and try to get past the defender at half speed.
- The defender follows the attacker's every move while running backwards with them.
- Once across, the attackers and defenders switch roles.
