Volleyball drills for technique warming-up

  • 1 SV at mid position 3
  • 1 player on position 2
  • 1 player at position 4
  • 2 passers backfield
Exercise starts
passer position 5 starts --> ball BH to SV - as soon as the SV sets this ball to position 4, the passer at position 1 plays the ball BH to SV.

BALROTATION:
  • passer at position 5 --> BH to SV
  • SV setup to player position 4
  • passer at position 1 --> ball BH to SV
  • SV setup backwards to player position 2
At 6 players --> see drawing top field BUT then SV plays only 1 way.
At 7 players --> see drawing top field and on bottom field then SV plays only 1 way.
In case of 8 players --> see drawing of upper field.
In case of 9 players --> see drawing of upper field and lower field.
In case of 10 players --> see drawing of lower field.
In case of 11 players --> then a substitute player as defender.

Setting up equipment:
  • The trainer stands with a large ball ready in his hands.
  • The players all hold a regular volleyball.

Game sequence:
  1. The players throw their ball to the trainer.
  2. The trainer lets the ball collide with his large air ball.
  3. The ball will bounce in different directions, the players try to catch it.

Alternately, each player goes around the pawn and gets the ball from a teammate for the 3-meter attack.

Stand opposite each other in pairs:

  • 1 person has 2 tennis balls, the other 2 volleyballs.
  • The person with the volleyballs throws one ball high to the other person, to 1 of his 2 hands.
  •  That person has to throw the tennis ball in that hand low back to the other person
  • Always the same person who performs the first action


Stand opposite to each other in pairs:

  • 1 person has a tennis ball, the other a volleyball
  • Volleyball is replayed in 2 contact, high or low
  • The tennis ball is then replayed in 1 contact, low if the volleyball comes high, high if the volleyball comes low


Per 2 opposite each other:

  • Variation on previous exercise
  • If the volleyball is played high, it must be replayed directly in 1 contact (tennis ball is played low at the same time).
  •  If the volleyball is played low, it will be replayed in 2 contacts


Per 2 opposite each other:

  • Play ball as long as possible towards each other with only the arms.




  • Two balls at once
  • Players at position 5 and 1 on two sides of the field, also 2 playmakers.
  • Ball from position 5 to server to position 1, to position 5 other side and so on.

  • The player not defending runs to the net.
  • SV gives Setup to 2 who in turn calmly attacks 1.
  • Then again. 1b goes under the net to help defend.
Variation:
  • With 4 players the matching 2 to the next attack is matching 1.
  • Quiet attack alternate with prod balls.

Setup:
  • In pairs, place the players in a row facing the wall.
  • Per pair 1 tennis ball.
Exercise:
  • Player 1 stands closest to the wall and begins the exercise by throwing the ball against the wall.
  • Player 2 catches the ball.
  • Player 1 meanwhile runs back through the right side and then catches the ball that player 2 just threw against the wall.
  • Repeat at least 20 times.
  • Make the exercise more difficult by having the ball caught in a hat.
