Basketball drills for technique attack / offense
- Setup:
- 2 groups at center line level
- 2 players look towards goal (stutter)
- Coach throws ball towards goal
- 2 players fight for the ball and play 1 on 1
- Defense must be between ball and goal
- 4 players on the baseline
- 4 players at the free throw line
- Coach passes to 1 of the players
- Player, opposite the one receiving the pass, runs to the baseline to join the defense
- Other players immediately go on offense and defense
- Important to stop the dribble
- Important to defend the basket
- 2 groups at center line level.
- 2 players look towards goal.
- Coach throws ball towards goal.
- 2 players fight for the ball and play 1 against 1.
Different options:
- Player under the basket, pass from the corner and player runs in. Quick scoring from close range.
Make it more difficult by throwing first ball against the board/wall, then score. - Player with ball on the centerline, 2nd player on the backline.
Player with ball starts dribble and 2nd player chases and must first throw ball against the board/or wall for score.
- Outward, the classic weave is run.
- Back, the weave is run up to the center line.
- The next 3 players ready to run the weave catch the current 3 players half court and a 3 versus 3 situation is created from which a score must always be scored.
- After the score, the newest 3 players run the weave and the next 3 will catch these players half court for a 3 versus 3.
- Players divide along the length of the field, so they stand on a sideline.
- They are going to perform this exercise in the width of the field.
- In the middle of this field are scattered a number of pawns.
- Everyone has a ball.
Exercise:
- Players dribble to the pawns in the middle, there they hold the ball and pivot 5x.
- Then they dribble on to the other side.
- Once there, turn around and dribble with the ball as fast as possible to the starting point.
- Then do it all over again.
- Starting lineup:
- 1 player at the level of the free throw line -both sides of the court-.
- 1 group of players to the right of the center line
- 1 group of players to the left of the center line
- Progression:
- Player at the center line passes to the player at the free throw line and runs through
- Player at the free throw line passes back to the running player
- Player does a lay-up
- Player who made the lay-up goes to the free throw line to pass
- Player who gave the pass takes rebound and passes to the other group at the center line
- Progression:
- No dribbling is allowed
- Regression:
- Group at the center line may be closer

- Regression:
- Goal attempt within 14 seconds
- Defense with hands behind the back
- Both offensive and defensive player fac the basket.
- The attacker puts the ball on the defender's back.
- When he takes it off, he goes to the basket very quickly.
- Ends at turnover or score.

- 4 groups

- 2 centerline
- Balls to the midline
- Midline player dribbles past pylon and passes to corner
- Shot in the corner
- Left and right start alternately
- Dribbling past on the left is passing with the left hand
- Passing on the right is passing with the right hand

- Setup:
- 2 players in offense
- 2 players on defense
- 2 players at the free throw line
- 2 players at the other free throw line
- Teams of 2 stay together
- Play 2 on 2 until there is a score or stop
- Defense gives outlet pass to player at free throw line level
- On score, insert ball behind baseline
- These go 2-on-2 to other side of the court
- Offense becomes defense and returns!
- Team that defended connects at the level of the free throw line
