Basketball drills for technique attack / offense
- Blue makes a board pass to the right of the hoop and sprints left around the pillon to the opposite side.
- White catches the ball in the air and makes a board pass, sprints right around the pillon and sprints toward the center line.
- Red catches the board pass, turns up the right side already in the air, makes an outlet pass to White and sprints across.
- White makes a long pass to blue and sprints across.
- Blue makes a layup and sprints across the right side to the other side.
- White sprints past the left pillon and sprints across again.
- Red grabs the rebound and makes another outlet pass to white.
- White passes to blue again.
- Blue makes a layup... etc, etc
- High tempo.
- Try to execute this drill without a dribble.
- Clearly call Outlet.
- How many times can you score without letting the ball touch the ground?
- Starting lineup:
- 1 forward left + defense
- 1 forward right + defense
- 1 guard center + defense
- 1 strong group, 1 weaker group
- Progression:
- Guard gives the pass to 1 of the forwards - alternating left and right
- Forward does a v cut to run free
- Defense tries to prevent the pass, but does not go full out yet
- Forward goes 1-on-1 and makes a drive
- Progression:
- Defense weak-side must drop off when the forward gets the pass
- Give and go with the guard instead of 1v1
- Active defense
- Regression:
- Passive defense
- Starting lineup:
- 1 group baseline with ball
- 1 group baseline without ball
- The inner group has the ball
- Progression:
- Player 1 dribbles slowly to the center line
- Player 2 does step and slide up to the center line
- Then they play 1 against 1
- Progression:
- Active defense during step slide
- Extra defender under goal
- Regression:
- Passive defense
- Player 1 sets up under the board with a ball.
- Player 1 jumps 3 times and taps the board with the ball after which he finishes.
- Player 2 takes the rebound and passes to player 3.
- At the same time player 1 runs to player 3 where he pulls the ball out of his hands -giving resistance- and immediately goes to the hoop to score.
- He takes his own rebound and repeats the exercise.

- 2 teams, both behind the baseline.
- One group has a ball.
- On the go signal, one player from each team leaves for the cone in front of them.
- The player with ball tries to make a layup and the player without ball tries to prevent it.
- Starting position:
- 1 attacker
- 1 defender
- 1 passer with ball
- Other players stand behind the passer
- Progression:
- Attacker must run free to receive the pass
- Once the pass is given, they play 1 on 1
- Stay on a quarter court
- Progression:
- Put the better players together
- Maximum of 5 dribbles
- Regression:
- Pass may be returned to the passer
- Blue stands behind the free throw line.
- Red stands with his back to blue with the ball.
- On the starting signal, blue sprints to the baseline and sprints back to defend
- Red sprints to the center line and back to attack.
- Always score.
- The attacker is given very little space to maneuver past the defender
- The attacker is not allowed to look at the ball
- The attacker accelerates
- The defender starts working on his footwork
- Once past the hats, the field is wider and scoring is possible

- Variation: the defender stands in the middle of the narrowed field and the attacker starts further back so you get a more game-like situation
- Four players stand in defensive position.
- Coach throws the ball against the board.
- Player 4 takes the rebound and passes the ball to player 2.
- Player 2 receiving the ball:
- Receives the ball and watches.
- Dribbles into the lane just off the center circle.
- Player 1 on the ball side:
- Sprints into the lane next to the sideline and looks over his inside shoulder to stay within passing range.
- Is first option in the start of the fastbreak.
- Player 3 on the non-ball side:
- Sprints down the lane next to the center circle and looks over inside shoulder to stay within passing range.
- Does not go through the center circle if he/she cannot go to score.
- Player 4 may go take the rebound.
- Starting lineup:
- 2 groups baseline side by side
- 1 group has a ball
- Progression:
- Playing 1 against 1
- Until the center line, defense step slide passively
- After the center line plays 1 against 1
- Progression:
- Active defense during step slide
- Extra defender under goal
- Regression:
- Passive defense
