Handball drills

  • The field players make 2 rows at the height of the posts.
  • The balls are shot at the goal at the pace of the goalkeepers.
  • Left high, right high, left high etc.
  • However, when the players have taken a shot they do not calmly take the ball but sprint to the half way line.
    • Variation:
    • Another point can also be indicated by means of a
      • pawn
      • hat
      • pole etc.
      • Instead of the middle line.
  • It is also possible to make another movement instead of sprinting.
  • For example the side jump.
drawing Goalkeeper warm up + sprint
  • Right corner player runs towards the outside defender on the other side and puts a back barrage.
  • Left build-up with ball threatens on the 2nd defender.
  • Makes a threat and jumps to the middle and plays to the blocking player or shoots at goal himself
  • Optionally, the ball can also be played into the circle if the middle defender gets out/closes up.
drawing corner bar
  • Ball goes from the left tackle to the middle tackle.
  • The middle build-up breaks away and throws the ball to the incoming corner.
  • The corner starts to receive the ball and puts pressure on the defender. (threatening the goal)
  • The build-up puts pressure on the middle and rounds off. (jump shot)
drawing switch with corner and builders
  • Line up three pawns on each build.
  • Twice around the pawn
  • Receive ball from other player
  • Finish on goal.

  • Notice:
    • Arm high, good leg in front, pointing to the ball, trunk work
  • Objective:
    • Footwork and throwing

drawing Goalkeeper throw in with condition 3

  • The three players start the quick counterattack.
  • The attackers play the defender out and go for the shot.
  • Tip: Start with three attackers against two defenders.

fast-build-up-play-3v3

  • Through the running ladder, quickly dribble through it with 2 feet.
  • Sprint to the pawn on the opposite side.
  • Slide between the 2 pawns.
Everyone 5 times, then instead of sliding high knee - knee lifts.

drawing Footwork
  • Divide group into pairs with 1 ball.
  • Between players about 4 meters space.
Task 1:
  • Player with 'open arm' in 90 degrees, aim at the chin of your buddy on the opposite side. Position the blue players on the drawing.
Task 2:
  • Same as task 1 + 1 more meter between players. The player is in forward motion while throwing. Position of the red players on the drawing.
Assignment 3:
  • Same as assignment 2 + 1 more meter between players. The throwing arm remains in equal position even if the ball is not there. Position of the white players on the diagram.
drawing Overplaying with 'open arm'
  • Exercises for individual technique and tactics in defense
  • Attention to the movement areas
  • Interval method 30 seconds of work, 30/60 seconds of relative rest
  • High intensity, explosive work
  • Correct technical posture
  • Do not cross feet, keep contact with the ground
drawing introductory exercises defense
  • Corners cut after pass.
  • Circle comes out, gets ball and goes back.
  • Move to goal without ball!
drawing Passing as a warm-up in attack
  • You make 2 pairs
  • 1 player stands without ball on the circle
  • 1 player stands with ball on the 9 meter line

  • On sign of trainer, the one with ball sprints forward and backward to the circle.
  • Arriving at the 9 meter line, the player with ball starts up and tries to pass.
  • The player without ball defends firmly.
  • You rotate through so that everyone attacks and defends once.

drawing attack-defense at high tempo
Ball moves from left to right and back again as the group moves on 1 line to the other side of the field.

Additional extension of this exercise:
  • Trainer names a player.
  • Player calls left or right player by name and switches positions. Fellow player crosses behind.
  • Both with and without ball.
The players learn in this way to coach each other, to see each other and not only to pay attention to the ball. Can be used as warming up as well as coaching training.
drawing Warming up Passing
  • Pass giving from LO-M / RO-MO
  • Pass giving in the run from LO to MO
  • MO runs in without ball, feints back and gives pass to LO.
  • LO feints towards the middle and throws on goal.
This exercise can also be done with 3 players.
  • MO then runs in without ball and passes ball to L/RO.
  • This exercise always in motion for the MO, run half circle, run backwards.
