Hockey drills for technique warming-up

  • At trainer's signal, both players start sprinting.
  • Blue must run around first pawn and Red runs straight through to tap Blue.
  • Red becomes Blue and flips over.
  • Player RED comes out of the square and offers himself to player BLUE.
  • BLUE passes to RED as he offers himself. 
  • Player WHITE pressures RED so it has to accept closed and plays back to BLUE (guard).
  • Player RED makes an acceleration to the left or right next to the square.
  • Player BLUE passes the ball to player RED looking carefully where RED asks for the ball (forehand or backhand).
  • RED takes the ball open and penetrates the circle to finish on goal.
  • TURN TO THE OTHER SIDE.
  • RED JOINS AT STARTING POINT / BLUE JOINS IN THE SQUARE.

  • There are 4 pawns in a diamond, and 1 in the middle.
  • The balls start at 2 pawns opposite each other.
  • Then walk to the center and pass it to the right.

  • You put in the middle 2 cones one meter apart. 
  • Then you put a pawn on the left and right at 5 meters distance each.
  • Player 1 plays the ball to the 2 cones.
    • Player 2 runs to the 2 cones.
    • Runs back while taking the ball in the front hand and hands the ball off to the next one.
  • Player 1 plays the ball to the 2 cones. 
    • Player 2 runs to the 2 cones.
    • Runs back again while taking the ball in the backhand and hands the ball off to the next one.
  • Player 1 plays the ball to the 2 cones.
    • Player 2 runs to the 2 cones.
    • Runs back again as she drags and carries the ball in the forehand and hands the ball off to the next one.

  • Make a square adjust the size according to the amount of players who are participating
  • Put someone on each side, opposite side is on the same team.
  • It is ball possession and move the ball around, if you play the one outside the field you chase your ball and then you stand there. 
  • The one outside who gets played the ball then participates again inside the lines.
  • You are not allowed to be attacked?

  • You put 1 pawn down as a starting point.
  • Then you put four pawns out like a fan at 8 meters distance. 
  • You sprint to the first pawn and then run backwards. 
  • Then 2 then 3 and 4. 
  • Next is player 2.
  • Whoever gets everything first is the winner.

  • On a quarter of a field, set out several exercises,
  • The players can start directly after each other.
    • From slalom,
    • dummy,
    • herring trick
    • to a walk you can set out.
  • So that during the warming up they can focus on all the techniques.

  • 3 teams
  • 2 goals on more than quarter field
  • Team 1 and 2 start in the field, team 3 over the back line outside the field. Team 1 starts with goalie
  • As soon as one of the teams scores, this team stays, the other team goes out and is replaced by the team on the side
  • There is always a turn so that the strong team stands by the goalkeeper.
    • Team 1 scores? Team 1 stays with the goalie, team 2 goes out and 3 comes in on the other side
    • Team 2 scores? Team 1 out, Team 2 by the goalie and 3 in on the other side
  • Teams always go in on the same side
  • Alternate with shuttles in between
  • Run 1000 m in four minutes (target time after about three weeks) from start of league half.
  • Put out 1,000m on a whole field (2 x pawns on penalty spot and pawns on 23m lines about four metres from the touchline).
  • You have a distance of about 200 metres.
  • Run this circle five times (H1 level within 4,5 minutes).
  • Flats,
  • Open take,
  • Accelerate & push pass from the run (if necessary, alternate the exercise with other techniques such as hit, push pass, backhand pass)

  • Pairs face each other.
  • Ball between them.
  • Players stand with their hands behind their backs.
  • As soon as BAL is called they try to grab the ball as fast as possible.
  • Who catches it first, wins.

The game is played with at least 4 players

  • 1 mouse who has a t-shirt or piece of cloth in the back of his trousers
  • 1 dog who has a tennis ball
  • 2 cats without attribute


  • the mouse runs around with the dog,
  • the cats try to grab the tail of the mouse and bring it to their cone
  • But the dog can tap the cat with the tennis ball and it will do a punishment of its choice in the camp.
  • If there are more players a group can be created and 2 games can be played together.
