Moving sidewayssideways

without-ballWarm up for the school.

  • Coach throws a setup on 3 and X at side A. 3 and X attack.
  • The 6 on side B are in rally formation and defend the attacks.

Blocking:
  • 1 and X on side B look at their attacker to know where to put the block.
  • X1 joins X and 1 by looking at their feet and placing hers next to them.

Defense:
  • Move after the setup is given and move as long as you can.

Moving as long as you can is in my case the moment the attacker barely touches the ball. At that moment, you make a split step as a defender and make sure that your body's centre of gravity (LZP) has been brought forward. So do not move backwards when the ball is hit because your LZP is then behind you and you are too late to defend the ball in front of you.

If the ball is defended, then rally.

Team 2
: One player sits on the ground with legs wide and has the ball.
The other player is standing.

  • The sitting player rolls the ball 1x along the left leg and the standing player taps the ball back.
  • After this the ball goes past the right leg and the standing player moves with closing pass to this ball and taps it back.
  • This way from left to right on a good tempo.

  • Player A throws ball over the net.
  • Player B or C passes ball to other player
  • The other player quickly runs to the net and sets up the ball for the same player who passed.
  • This player tries to get a pawn off the bench with overhand play or a hitting move.
  • Change after 5 balls

Which pair or team has knocked off/handled the most pawns after X number of minutes?

  • 2 rows of players
    • 1 row on the left back
    • 1 row at the right back
  • create with 4 pawns a virtual line where they have to stand behind
  • trainer stands at the other side of the net and throws the ball somewhere in the field.
  • 1 of the 2 front rows calls LOS orI (agree on this)
  • This player passes the ball into the basket on the players spot.
  • At the basket stands a catcher who brings the ball to the trainer in the basket.
  • The player who passes runs after the ball.
  • Catch a round for the next one
  • If you did not have the ball, join the shortest row.
  • shout-4

On your own:

  • Throwing the ball straight up above your head. Using legs and arms. Catch the ball.
  • Keep the ball in the air, it doesn't matter how. Let's get it warm.
  • Play the ball 5x (or more) with overhand technique
  • Play 5x (or more) the ball with underhand technique

Per 2 players:

  • 10x throwing and catching the ball with overhand technique
  • Throw the ball correctly 10 times, the other player plays it back overhand. And vice versa
  • Pass the ball correctly 10 times, the other player returns underhand. Vice versa.

Play the ball overhead:

  • Throw the ball from above your head using arm and legs straight up. Catch the ball.
  • Keep your hands above your head at all times
  • Catch the ball
  • arms 'spring in
  • and throw/play straight up by stretching arms
  • etc

  • trainer stands at the other side of the net and throws the ball somewhere in the field
  • player passes ball into basket

  • 2 groups. Each group starts on a different side of the hall with quiet running.
  • When the trainer calls 'yes', the front player of the group sprints to the other group.
