Volleyball drills for technique attack / smash / spike / hitting

In pairs with 1 ball, take turns hitting the ground against the wall.

  • Just tilted due to different lengths of children.
  • Preferably make groups with equally sized children.
  • Trainer has ball in hand and player takes ball out of hands.
  • It doesn't matter how they hit the ball, just pay attention to the run up!

- Making a buck

- Make a run for it:

- Right handed: left, right, left

- Left handed: right, left, right

Throw ball up for yourself and smash over the net. Your buddy catches the ball or keys the ball up for himself.

  • Trainer stands on the backline and throws the ball to the midfielder.
  • Sv comes in from the right front and gives set up and it attacks.
  • Attacker is accent!
  • Trainer stands at the net and player takes ball out of hands of trainer.
  • Divide the group by length and adjust the height of the net accordingly.
  • Trainer throws the ball a little bit from the net and you start attacking.
  • Accent is on the run and both arms in the air!
  • All 1 ball and to the wall.
  • Throw ball in front of yourself and make a smash through the ground against the wall.
  • Make sure both hands are in the air and slam wrist over ball.
You have to make a run for it and then jump on the bank (rocket). Trainer throws the ball 1 meter in front of the net and the player makes a run. Then he catches the ball at the rocket. If he doesn't do this properly, block on the other side of the net 3 times. Idem, only now hit
  • Hang the net diagonally and put the children on the big one together
  • The small ones at the low net etc.
  • Trainer holds ball in the air and player makes run up and knocks ball out of your hands.
  • Don't focus on a nice ball, it's about the run up and wrist movement.
  • Practice attacking the net with hoops on the ground.
  • Every child has a piping bag in his hand and hands it over in the air.
  • Leapfrog
  • Here you practice the run up.
  • RH : Left, brake step with right, connect with left and over.
  • The other way round for LH.
  • When delivering a freeball we want to disrupt the opponents offence as much as possible.
  • We can also use the freeball to take out an offensive attacker by pulling them close to the net or making them take the first contact.
  • Dump zones are meant to target the setter or setter transition area and to pull an outside hitter off of their approach.
  • If there is time, the player passing the ball should look at the opponents side of the net to determine where to place the ball - D1, D2, D3, D4
  • Teammates not involved in the play should be:
    • Ready to defend the freeball
    • Looking at the opponents transition or positioning on the court
    • Communicating to the player passing the ball on where to put the ball - 1, 2, 3, 4
