Handball drills

  • All players divide into the corners and buildup positions.
  • There are 2 defenders, 1x LO and 1x RO. They defend first passively and later actively.
  • The left builder:
    • Plays the ball to the corner.
    • Starts in and gets it played back.
    • Plays through to the middle at pace.
    • Runs diagonally back to the sideline.
    • Starts in and makes a passing move past the defender.
    • The same happens on the right side.
  • The left builds up:
    • Plays to the corner.
    • Gets it back and plays through to the middle.
    • Middle starts up as does the builder.
    • Corner starts in and gets the ball (with or without bounce).
    • Defender defends passively.
    • Corner tries to pass.
    • Same on the other side.
  • The left builder:
    • Plays ball to the middle.
    • Gets it back and plays to the corner.
    • Corner starts putting pressure and so does the builder.
    • Middle finishes by jump shot or passing move.
    • Defender is active right away. If ball goes through LO, LO defender is active, and vice versa.

  • Back-for-Back play with roll off of pivot

  • Opposing corner is gone before the ball enters the goal

  • Line up at the center line
  • 2 players start at the same time
  • Fast forward to the first pawn on the left, tap and reverse
  • To the other pawn on the right, tap and go backwards
  • To the pawn in the middle tap and go backwards
  • Go around the starting pawn
  • Sprint to the other side
  • Then make 2 teams > relay race. When you reach the other side, go back outside and tap the next one. Ready is sitting.
  • 2x without ball
  • 2x with ball;
    • 1st time only to the other side and back is bouncing.
    • 2nd time also to the other 3 pawns.
The team that loses performs an exercise that the winning team comes up with. Such as; push-ups, frog jumps, abs, jumping squats, etc.

Bringing the ball up quickly with short change and rounding
  • From the center line make three rows LO/MO/ RO
  • LO passes the ball to the MO who makes a short change on the right
  • The RO passes behind and receives the ball, makes a short dribble and short change on the left
  • The outside builders run wide
  • The LO comes through the middle and receives the ball from the RO
  • The new MO shoots at the goal.
  • Always change positions
  • Play substitutes on both sides
  • Baltempo
  • Finishing from 9 meters
  • Expand with coverage on circle. 2 defenders, then 3 defenders & 1 circle
  • Not intended to play long attack, so 2x short change >> SHOT

In two formations:

4-1
  • 3 players blue form a triangle
  • In the middle stands the circle player red
  • 1 defender white

  • Goal: the 3 players try to pass to the circle player and the defender tries to prevent this from happening

4-2
  • Same formation as 4-1
  • Extra defender added

  • Blue throws to white and runs to white's pawn and so on.
Variations:

  • Running after the ball.
  • Run the ball clockwise and players counterclockwise.
  • Crossing diagonally.
  • 2 balls.
  • With a bounce.

  • Blue with black starts with and runs 3 passes with the ball
  • Throws the ball to red who comes running in
  • Red throws the ball again to the next blue player who comes running in
  • This is how the circle goes around
More difficult:
  • 1 defender in the middle
  • 2 defenders and 1 circle player
  • Blue plays to red and red plays to the circle player
  • Circle player plays to blue again
