Volleyball drills for technique serving

  • All players stand outside the court behind the back line.
  • They throw the ball up at their own pace/height and serve over the net.
  • Extend: Practice targeted serving.
  • Put 1 or 2 hoops in the field and let the players serve to them.
  • You can practice with:
    • Overhand serve
    • Underhand serves
    • Float serves
    • Jump serve
  • In pairs 3 metres apart (practise storage),
    • Then stand further apart: 4 - 5 - 6 m
  • Throwing with hands, body stationary

Side a: formationSide
b: someone position 6 - position 5 and position 1

OBJECTIVE
: Side a gets every ball against and tries to score from this situation
.

  • First ball: serve side b
  • Second ball: freeball coming from side b (side b builds up and tries to pass "difficult" freeball)
  • Third ball: attack position 6
  • Third ball: attack position 1

  • Side a is not allowed to place the ball in the 3m line at side b, everything behind the 3.
  • But side b is allowed to attack in the 3m line.
  • Let's see how easy it goes.

Per 3 - working in rows - 1 ball

  • 1 person on 3 meter line with ball - serve
  • 1 person at the net - catch the ball
  • 1 person on 3 meter line without ball - reception

OBJECTIVE:

  • Hit 10 balls per person - float
    • First ball: serve from 3 meters to reception at 3 meters
    • Second ball: pass from 5 meter to reception at 5 meter
    • Third ball: pass from backline to reception at 5 meter

A team of servers and a team of passers

The passers work as follows:

  • 3 passers, 1 playmaker, 2 passers in the waiting room
  • Passers make a pass formation and pass the ball to the 2/3 position
  • Playmaker catches ball and rolls it to the players
  • The passer goes to the 2/3 position to catch the ball
  • The catcher tries to play the ball 2x for himself
  • The MA, if not passing, takes the position of the passer (LA or RA), if the MA is passing then RA/LA remain standing
  • The person in the waiting room takes the position of the MA

The server throws the ball up, catches it with one hand and throws it over the ball (DUS NOT SERVING).

After a certain amount of time, change positions and possibly serve the second round.

SIDE A:

  1. Player on position 3
  2. Player on position 6
  3. Position 5 -> attack at position 4
  4. Position 1 -> attack at position 2

SIDE B:

  • 2 or 3 raisers for position 1 - straight ahead
  • Mat position 1 - diagonal
  • Mat position 5 - diagonal
  • Mat position 2 short behind "block" = always point
  • Mat position 2 short slanted behind "block" = alwayspoint
  • Mat position 4 short slanted behind "block" = always point

Quiet storage straight ahead

  • Storage between position 5 and 6 // storage between 6/1
    • After reception Marie moves closer to position 1 to take the reception
  • Reception - pass - attack
    • Pass in turn
  • Position 5 and 1 attack position 4 and position 2

INTENT:

  • Ball does not fall to our side on attack = SOLVE
  • Bad pass = SOLVE
  • Taking risks is allowed

SIDE A:

  • 2 persons seated position 1
  • 2 persons strike position 6
  • 2 persons save position 5
    • 30 serves: 5 serves each

  • 1 person position 6
  • 1 person position 1

Storage - reception - trainer catches up

Stores on two sides.

Lay down mats:

  1. Position 1
  2. Position 3 - short
  3. Between position 5 and position 6

First 1 for 1:

  • Player has a hoop
  • Trainer throws the ball over the net, player has hoop in his hands and has to make sure the ball goes through the hoop.
  • Player passes the hoop to the next player in line.
  • Player puts ball in trainer's box

Next step:

  • Divide the group on two halves of the field
  • Player 1 serves the ball over the net
  • Player 2 makes sure the ball goes through the hoop
  • Player 1 joins the back at the hoop catchers
  • Player 2 passes on the hoop and takes the ball to serve
  • Three defenders in the field
  • One person who catches
  • Rest: serve
  • Strikes follow each other quickly
  • Each person in the field must make 5 perfect receptions to the receiver.
  • Catcher determines if the reception is good
  • When a defender has made 5 perfect receptions, he becomes a catcher and the catcher starts to serve
  • Make two teams.
  • Set up a two benches one person sits on the bench.
  • Other on the other side of the net who are going to serve to the person on the bench when the ball is caught 1 point and then switch persons.
