Volleyball drills

Two groups.
  • One group is on one side of the net, the other on the other side.
  • Both groups hit.
  • When the ball is in the net or out the person must sit down in the other group's court.
  • The person's teammates must now hit their ball to the 'dead fish'.
  • If the person can catch the ball, they may return to serve.
  • After a certain time the trainer calls stop and whoever has the least 'dead fish' has won.
Learning storage:
  • In pairs.
  • One person serves to the other over the net.
  • Change after a while.
    • Middle or top hand.
  • Along both sides of the net stand groups in 2.
  • In this group of 2, someone throws the ball and the other does underhand.
  • To make it harder:
    • Throw left & right
    • Or throw backwards & forwards.
  • Walking around the whole field
  • Trainer calls numbers 1, 2, 3 or 4
  • The kids do this.
  1. Jump with knees high
  2. Tap the ground and jump high
  3. Lying on your belly
  4. Burpees
Organization:
  • Trainers with ball cart on field B
  • Players with hoop on field A on 7m-line
  • Players hold the hoop with 2 hands

Execution:
  • Trainer throws the ball in an arc over the net
    1. Player comes in and puts the hoop on the spot where the ball is going to fall
    2. Same as 1, but catches the ball with 2 hands at navel height
    3. Same as 2, but now plays the ball underhand.
Organization:
  • Players in a row on p1
  • Trainer with ball pit on p2

Execution:
  • Trainer throws balls in an arc in the middle of the field.
  • Players must:
    • Catch and pass the ball and throw it in the ballcage.
    • Turn to p1 and catch at belly height.
    • Make a turn in the run and catch the ball
    • Sprint from lying position to the ball and catch it
    • At the place where the ball is going to fall, lie down and let the ball bounce on your back
  • Working together, groups of 3
  • Ball comes into play and will be passed to the other side with 3 contacts
  • First test of the ball towards the passer
    • From there run over to the other side
  • Who then passes (also over) and after the attack idem
  • There a new attack is built up with the same people but now to make a point.
  • In the meantime 3 others entered the field.

  • SHIPPING:
    • Passer --> Passeur --> Attacker --> Pass through other side
  • Attack street / deep diagonal

  • Defense --> pass --> attack

  • 2nd serve short (defended by the same press)
  • Defense --> pass --> attack
    • If necessary, 1 or 2 more blockers can be added.
  • SHIPPING:
    • Storage long --> Storage short --> Reserve backfield --> Defence --> Offence

  • 3 (or 4) players without ball with sight of ball

  • T hits ball
  • From then on players may split up in the field.
  • T raises ball in field and it is played out
  • Next group idem
    • Everyone does everything, so for example NOT only attack
    • Miscellaneous: prepare mats or goals as targets.

  • Divide the team in pairs.
    • Player 1 stands on the backline of the court and player 2 stands on a random spot on the other side of the net.
    • The intention is that player 1 serves the ball into the hands of player 2.
    • Player 2 is not allowed to step aside. If player 1 serves underarm into the hands of player 2 he gets 1 point.
    • Overhand? --> 2 points.
  • Change after 10 balls.
  • The team with the most points wins.

  • Player starts on the backline (C and higher)
    • or behind the middle (CMV).
  • Trainer serves high over the net
  • Player runs as fast as possible and tries to catch
  • Run back around the outside
