Handball drills for technique warming-up

  • At least 1 player stands at each pawn.
  • There is 1 ball at red.
  • Red throws to blue and walks to blue's pawn.
  • Blue throws to white and runs to white's pawn and so on.
Variations:

  • Running after the ball.
  • Run the ball clockwise and players counterclockwise.
  • Crossing diagonally.
  • 2 balls.
  • With a bounce.
drawing Overplaying in square
  • 4 pawns
  • At each pawn 1 player without ball
  • The rest run between the four pawns with ball
The players in the middle try to play to the players in the corner.

Attention:
  • Corners actively ready
  • Eye contact
  • Being active in the middle (No rows)
drawing Free running and throwing/catching
  • 2 rows of players at 11 meters
  • dribble and jump on run shot
    • hands
    • left/right high
    • left/right low
    • ground
  • Divide the group into two teams.
  • The teams stand side by side with about five meters between the players.
  • The players of each team stand behind each other, thus forming a line.
  • The course of the game is a square.
  • Team 1 starts in the far left corner of the square and team 2 starts at the same height in the far right corner of the square.
  • Thus, the two teams stand horizontally on the same line.
  • At the beginning of the game, the first two players from each team will compete against each other.
Game:
  • At the coach's whistle, these 2 players begin to run and follow the lines of the square.
  • They will run until they meet on their way.
  • At that point they will have to fight for passage!
  • This is how you do it:
    • You play leaf-stone-scissors.
    • Both players hold hands behind their backs and count down together: " 1 , 2 , 3 " and after 3 they each show a symbol:
      • leaf: the hand outstretched
      • stone: the hand clenched into a fist
      • scissors: index finger and middle finger extended
    • The leaf overcomes the stone, the stone overcomes the scissors and the scissors win on the leaf.
  • Of course, when the same symbol is shown, you have to start counting again.
  • The player who wins the leaf-stone-scissors game may continue walking along the lines of the square.
  • The loser walks back.
  • The goal is to get to the other team as quickly as possible!
  • But: when someone loses, the next player from that losing team starts walking until he meets his opponent again.
  • Then the leaf-stone-scissors game begins again.
  • Thus, the winning player is always stopped until he/she reaches his/her team.
  • Divide the group into 2 teams.
  • Make an F-Field; width of field.
  • Have the groups pass the ball 10x to each other without the other team touching the ball for 1 point. Pass only, do not bounce.
  • With an odd group, you can give one player a different vest and they will always play on the team with possession of the ball.
Making it more difficult:
  • Do not pass to the same back.
  • Everyone must take their turn.
  • Ball must not touch the ground.
  • Only pass with a bounce.
  • You form 2 teams of both the same number of people
  • Each team has its own box
  • On the back line of that section both teams have high cones upside down
  • The trick is for the other team to knock over the pawns
  • You can win with your team by fending off and defending the pawns
Set out the speed ladder and have players move through the ladder to the beat of the music. Different variations are possible:
  • 2 feet out, 2 feet in.
  • 2 to the front, 2 to the back.
  • Hopping.
  • Hopping in zigzag; left of ladder, inside ladder, right of ladder, next compartment of ladder, left of ladder, etc.
  • Side jumps. Like a skier.
  • 2 teams in a row.
  • Rear goes forward by:
    • Crawling between legs.
    • Jumping over them.
  • In front? Throwing ball to the back.
  • forward skate jump / hall back and forth
  • release and catch. forearm up at 90 degrees with upper arm. Release ball and catch immediately. 3 * 8/16
  • hip flexor stretch - lunge position / buttocks forward - bend arm with ball over head 3*8 both sides
  • push-up passing - duo opposite puash up and passing alternate
  • Drop ball behind your head, catch between your legs.
  • Throw ball up and catch behind your back.
  • Dribble, 2 times high 2 times low.
  • Dribble back and forth with ball below level of your knees.
  • Standing in front of a wall, hands against the wall, leg swing from left to right.
  • Sideways, 1 hand against the wall, leg swing.
  • Sideways, 1 hand against the wall, open hips.
  • Spread position. Toes touch left with right and vice versa.
  • Everyone stands in the position where he/she often stands during match.
  • Everyone has a ball and starts up when they receive/play the ball.
  • Everyone rounds their own ball at the goal.
  1. LH starts rounding, get ball played to them by instarting LO. Circle player sets off corner for realistic shot.
  2. LO gets ball from instarting MO and rounds on goal. Circle player can be passive defender.
  3. MO may throw, gets ball from RO. Circle player may be passive defender.
  4. MO quickly returns to position and plays RO.
  5. RO plays RH, rounds on goal.
  6. MO plays circle with bounce and rounds on goal.
This exercise can be repeated several times at a good pace.
There can be several players per position.
The first in line can play all corners.
It is about warming up from your own position.
Keeper stands on goal.
